This is just another thread about a forum game. Look on and pass by if you're not interested or too cool or whatever.

Thanks to the numerous internet resources out there, no more lame books are required to play d&d. :D
look here: http://www.d20srd.org/ the "SRD" is the definitive guide to the D&D game.

So, since I'm going to be bored as hell for the next few days, some of use should get together, use the Revelations Server as a chatroom, and get some groovy Dungeons and Dragons, 3.5 style, going on! Also, I have plenty of extra dice to make rolls for everyone and I can be the GM too. Everything that takes a long time to write out, including the backstory, can be transcribed into this thread.

Rules for posting in the thread (and joining us on rev) as a player:
1) No nonsensical noobspam. I don't want to see any of those *killerdude666 smaks assassassinator in the face!!!1!* things.
2) It's okay to not know the rules, but no faking up stupid stuff. Naming every kind of attack you want to make falls under this category too. No dragonballz/naruto/onepiece/pokemon/mortalkombat/DoA-Xtreme Beach Volleyball moves.
3) You don't always have to agree with me, but it does occasionally help your character live.
4) If anyone actually seriously wants to play, then we can have character sheets and everything. It all depends on the seriousness of those involved. Naturally, I'm going to go with the most serious crowd that comes.

Now, if anyone is capable of believing the following statement, this is not a joke. Sign up now. ;)

Players: Character Names:

I'm hoping that there will be at least four players and that each of them will take up the traditional roles of warrior, thief, mage, and healer. Due to the nature of this campaign and of these forums I'm not going to worry about alignment.

The main goal is to try to get experience and treasure, just like many other rpg games, and fighting against people is a good source of that. There's a system of encountering creatures that the players can talk about with the DM. Alignment rules are annoying, so don't worry about being good or evil (or neutral or lawful or chaotic or true neutral) I guess. I'm sure there's something on the site I linked to about it if anyone's really interested.

It is a real game--a pencil and paper game. It requires no computers or gagets. Instead of graphics, situations and encounters are described. Random number generation and thus hitpoints, attacking, and spellcasting to name a few, are handled by dice.

I was figuring that if anyone actually wanted to play somewhat seriously, we could do it on the revelation server. A lot of members can get on it because those accounts last forever. That might be trouble for you if you can't access it.
