Freestyle furgon worth more than gold

Sorry to my lack of screenshots.

I was playing some guy from AK. he was using the regular 3 knights, 2 scouts, mud, dragon, cleric, frost. I was using one of punishments forms, with 2 knights, 2 scouts, mud, dragon, cleric, frost, furgon.

Game went normally. He wouldn't make a move, so even though i had a furgon i just rushed in his flank. i got his cleric and a couple stray pieces, but i lost my whole attacking force. it was now nearing end game.

I had cleric, furgon, frost, and a scout. (all full)

He had 3 knights(25, 30, and 1 was full), dragon(mid 40's), scout(full).

I froze the 25 knight, and then furgoned so the scout couldnt get me. but, in the effort to kill it, another knight halfkilled my scout. i healed, and froze the new incoming knight. while i was whittling down the other 30, the full knight went around to get my cleric. he had half killed it before i killed his other weakened knight. then, he shot a shrub with his scout and jumped dragon in. i shrubbed the other knight out, and froze the dragon. after kiling the dragon, he got his scout around to my frost. he was 1 turn too late, so i got to kill his dragon. When i finally killed his scout, he had half killed mine and un frozen me. but his scout was dead, so the frosty ended the game.

I have been telling people that the Furgon is useful over an attacking unit in an anti-rush such as that. When I used it, well, it proved to be very useful. I am happy to see that others agree. If you are one to think about your moves, the Furgon will without a doubt, save at least two of your attacking units sometime during the match (if you are using the usual anti-rush). Nice win, Matt. :)

Berzerker/Daemon Bloodmauw is the person who has been using a furgon anti the longest and most consistently of anyone I know. I haven't played him in quite a while, but I beleive it's Monkus' anti - GA.

I can't; TAO isn't working on my computer... And Match, I've played Berz when he had that... and I have to admit he didn't use it efficiently considering I beat him by seven units. But, I still do agree it is a good strategy.

Well, like I said it's been a while since I've played him. I don''t know how good he is with it, but he was certainly one of the first to utilize it in anti form.

What's odd about his style is that he uses the furgon and three knights, as opposed to the more common style of substituting furgon for a knight and retaining a mud golem.

Knight is not going to get back or side attacked with flanking shrubs, and makes a better wall in places where shrubs just won't cut it. I'd say that guy is a really cautious player.

I just bum-rushed Pun and beat that form.

Of course, he made a couple really silly moves. After he made them he went like this: >_<, or something along those lines :)

If I remember correctly Steve, you played me when I was returning from a pretty good absence, and our record beside this game has me up.. every game.

Must've been pretty proud though if you remembered the unit count, but it's the play style that got me to 1568 on GL before I left, 1480 or so on Army in a few weeks with a handful of losses, and got most of your clanmates afraid of me. :dry:

Right now it's a cleric, frostie, furg, 2 scout, dt, 2 knight, lw defensive monstrosity, although I'm pretty rusty right now. Maybe you'd like to see it in a bit.

I get a lot of funny looks using the form though, but yup, I was one of the first antis with a furgy. I'd like to see Puni's version though, the reason I didn't use the muddie was that it died too quickly and with few attacking units, I needed longevity.

And consider me proud of the other match then, because I probably was. I'd love to come back and play you or something on GL, but THIS STUPID COMPUTER won't let me into TAO. ("Connection Refused"). People like you that grossly underestimate the power of Cleric/Frost/Furg/Scout against almost any late-game force are what make sheer ownage with those four units so damned easy.

Great win phoe, but as a Furgon turtler in a freestyler's game, it's a common occurence for me to win this way. You're just getting a taste of the magic. :wink2:

Today I played a frontline rusher with my antirush.

LW'd the wisp, he kills my cleric with a GA muddie combo, I kill the muddie & BR and lose a scout and knight in the process, paralyzing one of his knights.

The game works out to where I have a 8hp scout, 50 knight, 64 DT, 50 frost, 23 hp furgon, lw versus 3 knights (1 frozen), 2 scouts and a cleric.

Came out on top with a full hp knight, lw, furgon, frostie. Was a great game though, I thought I was screwed at the beginning. The lw/DT combo is insanely deadly.

Furgon/frostie pwnage isn't new, but it's just uncommon. Hell.. I once got a new clan to 23 golds in a few days through furgon pwnage and offers to teach my ways. :cool:

Hahaha, nice nice. I personally like the furgon more everytime somebody screams at me for using it. It just makes me find ways to drag the game out by using it when I don't need to. Kinda like when I agitate players who pass the turn every round in order for me to attack them first, and lose when I do. Or the ones who call me a wimp for using hit and run.

Lol. I too have felt the rath of Berz's set. I like it. I guess the key to this game is you have to find something that works for you and Berz...has.

ive done something like that where the person had a dragon and 2 scouts and i ended up beating them with a scout and frost. it was awile back and i played better than ive ever played to pull out the win.

Just jumping in here, but I have had a lot of succes using furgons in rush and turtle, I have always sucked at anti, I add a furgy, and my first try is a flawless +) and furgy did help a lot after I got the muddie +)

Hehe. I have a rare pleasure in saying I've beaten Berz's furgy free same sides, in our only freestyle game to date. Man, that was a hell of a game. :cool:
