View Full Version : An interesting strategy

While playing a newb today, he accidentally did something that I hadn't considered. And after a moment, it dawned on me that it could be used as part of a strategy as well.. It's nothing real special, but check it out..

You can use your barrier ward on opponents, also. Normally, you wouldn't want to do this.. however, if you have injured an opponents unit, and then use your barrier ward on that unit, your opponent cannot heal him. I hadn't even considered such a thing until I saw it happen by accident. The cool thing is that when you place the barrier ward, your opponent is usually quite content to let him sit there, and not move the unit, as well, or they lose the barrier.. And if done right, you can play it off as a mistake, and they will simply laugh at your stupidity... little do they know you have a master plan..

Just thought that was an interesting find.

I tried this thing out the other day, and it worked well. The other player couldn't figure out why I had given his weak unit a barrier... until he tried to heal his units, then he got it.

This seems like it would work well in the endgame. Your opponent has two knights, and both of them are really weak. You barrier one, so he can only heal the other one. After you finish off that one, you go after his cleric, and he is left with a weak knight. Also, putting a barrier on that knight helps convince him not to move it.

its not really a net loss between the players. I fhe moves it and there is nothing to attack nearby, then he just moved for the sake of moving.
