Turtle Tournament

It has come to my attention that Legends has had a Turtle Tournament to find their top 12 turtlers to fight against our top 12. Well, we don't actually know who our top 12 turtlers are. So I have made this tournament to find the Top 12 Turtlers of FPS.

The rules are simple:


Okay folks. If you are not in the clan, you need to be. We now have a deadline. On the 30th of March I, and 2 other judges of your abilities, will be determining and finalizing the team - to be posted the 31st. The Legends/ FPS Tourney will begin in April. Between now and then, any member may join and participate, any member may drop out and quit. The selection will be based off skill, of course, but also on cooperation and activety.

Here is what will be different:
-League style - open ended. You do not need to play every person who is playing, however I have been here a long while and do have a very firm grasp on who is skilled. So if you beat some noob 40 times, I will tell you "congratulations, you have beaten a noob." Any member in the clan is to play with any other member who is on (provided they both want to). There are no points.

-Documentation: The winner of each game is to post several things in the thread I will be making.
1) Opponents and the winner.
2) Type of game played - Legends/ Alpha. I will not be requiring or even monitoring that people play both kinds, however it will work to your advantage by the judging process if you are sufficient at (or at least trying) both.
3) A final screenshot of the game's end.
4) Optional - for those of you whom I personally know, mainly, and anyone who wishes to further my understanding, please provide a short write-up about the opponent you just beat. Were they a joke? Did they show skill? Was it luck? I do know a great deal of you, but I also do not know a great deal of you. Remember - you will be on the same FPS team, it is of benefit to you to place the best people on your team as possible, so writing a bad write up about a good player will not do you any good.

As the process continues, I will be removing players that are obviously not FPS team material from the clan, and therefore from the selection process. Simultaneously, I will be inviting people (who wish to join) into the clan until the 20th or March, 10 days before the team is posted.

Any problems or disputes are to be sent to myself of Elemental. He is still in charge. If he tells you to do something and I am not there, it is me speaking through him.

I sustain my right to remove anyone for any reason I deem necessary - dont give me a reason. For those of you that have been in my tournaments before, you can attest to the fact that I do not and will not tiptoe around your irresponsibilities. I dotn care if you're the most skilled person in the world , if you cant work with other people, it is apparent to me that you will only cause problems in the Legends/FPS tournament and I am not willing to deal with such problems.

The selection process begins NOW. If you are not in the Rev Clan, get in it. Any time you see my name on the forum list at the bottom, you will be able to find me on Rev or a server and get an invite.

1. There will be twos games you will play
- 1 Alpha Turtle game
- 1 Legends Turtle game
- Alpha Turtler rules are1. Stone golem in the back row or second to back row corner, with 4 units next to it ready to be stoned.
2. No mobile ranged units in the front row.
3. All mages (Pyro, DSM, DMW) must be in the back 3 rows
4. All units must be in 6 adjacent columns, where one of those columns is next to a wall.
5. No golem ambusher.
- Legends turtle consist of only 1 scout
-May have stone in front of cleric for Legends Turtle

3. If there is any un-sportsmanlike behavior, you will be disqulified. We do not want FPS to get a bad name for those who have bad behavior, no matter how good you are.

4. Screenshots are required unless both players consent to the win or loss.

I'm not too fond of a tourney deciding the people who get to be on the team.. it can obviously become skewed, if a person has a bad game or something. Also, the #1 contender could knock out #2, #3 and #4 before they make it.. weakening the team

I'm not against it as an indicator though.. I don't see why it can't be used to HELP choose the team.

I am setting up a turtle tourney involving both legends and fps, in a friendly way if possible. Last year leg vs fps went quite bad because we involved the wrong people. A turtle tourney to see the best turtlers in action should be easier to manage, and i need help to organize. Interested?

Look Pun, your little outburst automatically shows your level headedness. We don't need a booster running this thing. This is for signups. The tournament will not determine the exact team. Pst performance isn't a great factor because people can get better or worse over time. This is gonna be done calmly and with reason, so Punishment, if you obtain either of those quickly you can start in on this.

Meaty is going to run the actual tournament because he is as neutral as it gets. We won't get the absolute best by just picking and choosing.

Question, for legends turt's, is it just alpha but only 1 scout, but what about stone in front of cleric legends turts? What are the exact rules for legends turts?

Alpha rules for turtle games:

A turtle is a formation that has a stone golem in the back row, cornered or next to the corner, or to the very side in the second row,or in front of a cornered cleric, with at least 4 other units within stoning distance of the golem's original position. The formation has no golem ambusher,no dsm/pyro, no witches and has no mobile ranged units in the front row, except for Dragon Tyrants. No unit is allowed to be put in the first or second row from the central vertical line on.
Turtling without a stone golem is still possible, but i won't cover this yet

And before you go on with your "you only did this because geek told you to" speech, I made it because at the time, I didn't know anyone besides Geek and Fire got the PM. And if you have listened to what we have been saying, this thread is to HELP decide who will be on the team. And by you posting in this thread bitching and moaning about how this is a bad idea and how your way would be much better than this, is not helping your chances of getting on the team.

We do not need to be rushed on picking our members. The FPSvs.Legends tourney can wait until we find our members, and that our members are fully ready to play in it. I am sure OmegaShin would understand that.

It does not matter who organises the tournament, the result will be the same. A good organisator will only speed the whole process, in my opinion, which is quite not necessary. I think this is about you. You are just jealous and bigheaded like I do not remember you to be.

If you cannot just take in the fact, be gone. We will have fun without you, I will not want you on the team after this tourney chooses the best, though. Although I am quite sure the tournament will not be the thing that decides, everyone should undergo it, with no exception. I bet you will have you ass handed to you a couple of times. So if you have nothing creative to say, shut it.

And he was not. Bottle helped Thash a lot and I think JJ could have done so too. :)

And I think that only the well known should represent the community, only if an unknown player plays outstandingly great should he be considered for the team in my opinion. Players should have a decent beahviour too, so that we do not get something like the last thing. Punishment is acting Moosish right now, for example.

For someone who doesn't care much about this whole thing, you spend a awful lot of bitching and moaning is this thread.

I hate it when people try to convince everybody how they don't care, yet in some miraculous way they still find it necessary to keep on bitching and moaning and repeating how if we still might need their oh so much-needed help, they will consider it.

I have been talking with Bludhoundz as well. The tournament will give an idea of where everyone is at. This is not the final word by anymeans however it will give an idea how good unknown players are or people who have not played in a while (Monkus, Blazedaces, myself for example). I had originally declined his offer to play on the Legends team to assist FPS, but there is too much crap going on here. There is going to be a long, drawn-out tournament that won't decide anything. Okay folks. If you are not in the clan, you need to be. We now have a deadline. On the 30th of March I, and 2 other judges of your abilities, will be determining and finalizing the team - to be posted the 31st. The Legends/ FPS Tourney will begin in April. Between now and then, any member may join and participate, any member may drop out and quit. The selection will be based off skill, of course, but also on cooperation and activety.

Here is what will be different:
-League style - open ended. You do not need to play every person who is playing, however I have been here a long while and do have a very firm grasp on who is skilled. So if you beat some noob 40 times, I will tell you "congratulations, you have beaten a noob." Any member in the clan is to play with any other member who is on (provided they both want to). There are no points.

-Documentation: The winner of each game is to post several things in the thread I will be making.
1) Opponents and the winner.
2) Type of game played - Legends/ Alpha. I will not be requiring or even monitoring that people play both kinds, however it will work to your advantage by the judging process if you are sufficient at (or at least trying) both.
3) A final screenshot of the game's end.
4) Optional - for those of you whom I personally know, mainly, and anyone who wishes to further my understanding, please provide a short write-up about the opponent you just beat. Were they a joke? Did they show skill? Was it luck? I do know a great deal of you, but I also do not know a great deal of you. Remember - you will be on the same FPS team, it is of benefit to you to place the best people on your team as possible, so writing a bad write up about a good player will not do you any good.

As the process continues, I will be removing players that are obviously not FPS team material from the clan, and therefore from the selection process. Simultaneously, I will be inviting people (who wish to join) into the clan until the 20th or March, 10 days before the team is posted.

Any problems or disputes are to be sent to myself of Elemental. He is still in charge. If he tells you to do something and I am not there, it is me speaking through him.

I sustain my right to remove anyone for any reason I deem necessary - dont give me a reason. For those of you that have been in my tournaments before, you can attest to the fact that I do not and will not tiptoe around your irresponsibilities. I dotn care if you're the most skilled person in the world , if you cant work with other people, it is apparent to me that you will only cause problems in the Legends/FPS tournament and I am not willing to deal with such problems.
