The forums doesn't always shut down, things just shut down sometimes..

I'm assuming they were mostly doing updates or whatever today since the entire site was down, and apparently both redbones and serg were on at the same time.
Seemed like a lot of forums were down today...

Edit: Not updates, just a lot of places going down. Probably something bad happening like Jeff mentioned...

The forum was down for much longer, as were many others I had visited.

Jeff might be right, and there could be a fairly big attack that's going to go down (is going down). My mom works at a school, and they have been getting e-mails and papers sent to them explaining some new virus that's going around. I'm not sure if it is the reason things went down for a while but if that's the attack it's possible.

I could be wrong on some of this to... Jeff (and many others) know far more than me. I can say I know a little and understand a little though. =\

The site was working fine, just not the Forums.
For a while. Then the entire site went down as some things were worked on. But TAO was not the only site affected such...

Also, Bills has several other sites he runs, so I am not sure just how affected those were since several also have vBull forums....

In the end you have to realise that this is the internet, and nothing on it works all the time perfectly. Shit happens, and you get over it and move on.

I think you need to get a better computer and internet service. The forums are only down on occasion when something is being fixed, like yesterday... or two days ago. I forget which.

Funny, because every other website and forum I visited yesterday except this one was working fine. I'm pretty sure my internet connection didn't only effect this one site. Though I do understand why the forums are going down so often, maybe they should get a new sponsor for the forum.

You're still not understanding that the forums were uncontrollably down, and that was one time in a long while. If they're going down every five minutes for you, there is something wrong with your connection.
Go check the announcements for more information on the downtime yesterday.

It shuts down at midnight or atleast lags, the webhosting company does back up at that time because they are bad. For you getting ownd every 5 minutes. I say good game to your ISP.
