I'll comment this because i feel as it was directed at me, Deep isn't good, i'll play him all day with the same sets so he can try and counter mine and he wouldn't win, i would even let him change his set around and he still wouldn't win, Deep has always been a noob and will never be good at turtle, most of the people he beat are either not good or rusty or its not there normal playing style, take Mag for example, i believe Deep beat him in legends style and then Mag beat him in FPS.

Deep also beat DFP several times in both FPS and Legends. It is always good to have a good legends turtler on your team, and good FPS turtlers, and good all around turtlers.

It won't fall apart, it's just me and Jonspen and it's not even certain either of us is making the team.

I am just making clear that if meat.eater and the rest of the team want Jonspen on the team, they can't have me.

That isn't meant to sound arrogant or like some kind of ultimatum, because it's not.

I'm perfectly fine with not making the team because of this, but I aim to have fun and some great games in the Legends vs FPS tournament with a team I can cheer for and be cool with.

Well, I am the official punching bag.

I've had some pms from quite a few of you, actually, urging me to join. I am flattered that those of you already on the team think so highly of me. Here are my 2 main concerns.

1) I'm in my last term of law school, and it will soon be crunch time. My "A" paper (high-level scholarly writing) is due, and I have the usual tests, etc. Those start in early April. Unfortunately, once those are done and I graduate (25 with a doctorate, yahoo!), I have to immediately start studying for the bar exam. That is an extremely time intensive process. I may also have to be moving around Oregon, looking for potential jobs and finding a new apartment. All of that adds up to very little free time. I'm hesitant to join due to the fear that I may just go AWOL with very little advance notice. Whether I'm part of this team or not, I want us to beat Legends. And I don't want to cost us points by vanishing.

2) Despite what y'all say, I'm wary of my skills. I just don't know if I've got the top-rung turtling that we will need to carry the day. Again, I'm flattered that you all think I do...so that must mean something.

I've talked to meat a bit about this, and perhaps I could wind up taking the sub spot...pitch in for a few games for absent people, but not have to worry about a large time commitment. That sounds like a fine idea to me.
The downside is (ego aside) that if you all wanted me as a "starter," then with me being the sub, there would be someone on the team who wasn't a first choice...but I guess that's not really my problem, since I'm not picking the team.

Just putting these things out there. No matter what role (if any) I have, I'll be rooting for us all the way. Just remember, when you're playing the tourney, there's probably a 50% chance that, regardless of the name, the Legender you're playing is Omega. :rolleyes:

played AlabamaBoy in FPS. Same side sets, he had a furgon, I had a wisp. He let me go offensive early, and I pounded his mud into submission. We then wound up trading both of our scouts for the other guy's scouts, so that was odd. But because of the early mud kill, I had the unit edge, and he had 1 fewer unit to attack me with due to his furgon. So I just pushed up and walked my frost slowly up. It wound up traveling from the back of the board to where you see it in the s/s. If he'd gotten to the last row, he could've morphed into a dragon. Hmm, or is that Chess where that happens? :huh:
AB wasn't able to split up his damage efficiently enough due to his dragon's wait time, so I was able to just slowly overwhelm him. My frost provided good backup as his own shrubs kept him from getting to it.

In the spirit of AB's posts, FryLock's modern set > AB old school. Alternately, Stoned Wisp > Furgon. Alternately, my dragon > his dragon. :p

He has a habit of thinking he is a better turtler than me because he made it to the finals, yet not only did I humiliate him in battle, but he 1) goes around to say he didn't know it was me when he talked to me on Astral the night before and 2) calls me a noob. Now, the only reason I didn't make the finals is because I lost to Manadragon, and I saw him beg you not to be put against him, because as he himself said, he knew he couldn't defeat him.

He then starts going on how I've refused 3 challenges etc. Anyway, I think compromise is the key here but if you want to disqualify me then I guess that's how it is, but I will NOT play while I have schoolwork to do.

Description: We started out opp sides, AU got first turn. He started beating on my scout as I brought it out along with my mud. I ended up unstoning him with mud and moving my knights downfield. He killed my scout and mud but soon found himself without any scouts, wisp, or mud golem. I then brought my wisp out, keeping my final knight alive long enough for some more punishment, and ended up taking his knight down to 1 HP before AU surrendered. Luck wasn't really a factor this game.

If I had not of moved the wisp (I moved the wisp and asked to move it back, answer was no) and as a result my cleric was dead. Your frost was 1 hit from being dead, and you couldnt move your other scout for support because my drag had your cleric pinned.

Do you want a rematch or not? It's pointless saying you're gonna wait till I'm calm, because you're gonna have to wait through 10 years of therapy.

You did not outplay me jons. That is a rude way to admit defeat, if you are attempting to protect your pride it is not working.

Regardless, According to jons he outplayed me. In this situation he is pinned by my scouts and mud. If he didnt move his wisp I would quake again putting all of his surrounding units in critical. If he tried to freeze one of my units they have support and I would have easily defocused.

Also his cleric was in wait and could not have prevented the killing of his mud.

Ok, Dape. Read this.

His wisp has one more turn to wait, his scout has 2 turns to wait, his muddy is free to go.

He kills his muddy and moves his DT in front of his frosty to prevent killing it. The best thing Jonspen could do is either freeze the scout or attack the poisoned muddy. Bama heals and moves his cleric to safety.

Even if Jonspen killed his muddy and scout with no losses which is unlikely, Bama still has the unit advantage and could easily kill off his already hurt scouts. Wisp would be a no problem and dragon and knight would be fed to his frosty. The end.
