If the GA and the wisp can get changed... so can the beasty!
I suggest the beasty gets a:
+1 power raise (making it ambusher or mudpunch strength for better fighting golems and clerics)
OR
blocking increase!

The wisp and GA were made less powerful, I doubt they would make any unit stronger. I wouldn't mind having the ability to take out a few golems faster with my beasty =]

Yes i do...
EDIT: if you want to criticize thats fine but at least state WHY giving him +1 attack would kill everything.

I dont think +1 would make much more of a difference. 19 is just too random.

it would mean 3 hit kill on golem

Yeah, but the 19 is there for a reason. It has its uses, and means the BR is more suitable for other tasks that a mud, for example. Making the BR's attack 20, in my mind, would just be weird and wrong therefore. It would make the BR slightly overpowered. 19 is a good balance.

If anything I'd be more interested in increasing its armor, blocking, or health. The reason I don't use one is that with 2 scouts you have all the range you want, and range is what the BRs good for, otherwise its a weak unit. The BR can circle a unit with minimal waiting time, or get into your oponants set fast, the only problem being that it won't get more then one shot if the other guy is bent on killing it.
In a turt on the otherhand I would like the BR, because it'd be stoned and its 2 range attack would come in handy against the typical cramped turt set, its movement range giving it the ability to get to your oponant fast, and get out if neccisary.

Totally. The BR was designed with infiltration in mind, and that's what it is good for.
Congrats on the 3k posts, btw.

The Beast Rider was designed to take out clerics, or any other low health units. It's advantages were to hit stoneys and frosties also 2 units at a time. Good Suggestion tho.

Awesome idea!
Very detailed!
*poof*
how about if they attack goes down to 18. .but hp goes up to 40 and blocking goes up to 25% on sides and 65% on front...I think that that is a good balance.
sorry matt typo

blocking goes up to 25% on front and 65% on sides
So it'd have better blocking on sides then on the front?

yeah thats what he said. and if it is 65 in the front, it would have to be 1/2 that for the sides. but in any case, making the BR weaker is NOT good. then a mud from 3 spaces cant kill cleric.

People claim that the Beast Rider is a very underrated unit. I disagree with them because when they try to prove themselves, they have to worry about the thing dying, and only try to use IT for attacking. In a normal game, the BR just can't compete enough for a position in my, or most of anyone's, sets. The unit was designed to be a melee unit with a slight range increase, but not so it should be behind a wall, but perhaps forming the flank of one. Most Scouts can nail it because of its low range. The combos used to kill the BR are way to easy to pull off, so I think it is slightly underpowered. It is a different story when it kills the Cleric, but that's all it can do even if it pulls that off. I'd much rather use a Knight.
I think the Beast Rider should have its blocking increased to 65% so that ranged units cannot take it out easily. This will also encourage players not to just sacrifice it, since it isn't going to last anyway. Remember, it's NOT an overpowered Assassin because it does NOT have a secondary attack, the Assassin's attack pattern, or as high blocking. It all depends on how you look at the Assassin's special move. If you think it isn't used as often as it should be, the BR would be made an overpowered unit with the increased blocking. It's all opinion, but I think the BR just doesn't have enough lasting power in order to be effective in most games, unless it is used for a suicidal cleric kill.
