Grey With Gold Units

Tried searching for threads similar to this one, and got a whole bunch of irrelevant results. I didn't want to sift through all of that so I'm sorry if this topic has already been brought up.

For the second time in the last few months, I've been jumped by a "grey." From the lobby screen, everything looks normal, but once in the battle, I see a dragon, mud, frost, a second scout, and various other "gold-only" shenanigans. Needless to say, being grey-jumpers, the players didn't have much skill and lost (although the one I just came out of was impossible to win, being that my 2nd sassy negated the bomb, and my lack of a BW negated my 2 chanties :( ). However, I am wondering what is going on? Do de-golded golds retain the gold units until the next wipe?

Yes, if someone degolds, they get to keep their Gold units until the wipe.

i personally dont like that when some1 de-golds they get to keep there gold pieces. cuz stuff exactly like what he described happens all the time.

I'm not mad that they jumped me. Any decent grey can kill grey-jumpers any day. I was just confused as to why they had gold units. But it's all clear now.

Well only the nub degolds jump you the others you jump so can't blame all degolds and just ask someone in the lobby next time if no one anwsers you.
They get wiped with you and all other greys.
