I'm making this thread to commemorate my idol, Myke, the headless chicken. He lived for 18 months without a head. He is my idol, for his determination. He was the greatest, and this is a thread were we can all honor him.
Remember, Myke the headless chicken celebration is the third weekend of may. May he rest in peace.
Here he is in all his splendid glory:

You need to get educated, you're dead wrong, don't call me wrong numb nuts. The medulla oblongata is right on top of the spinal cord and below the cerebellum, which looks in tact on that chicken.

Uhm.. I'm right though. Weird how you are the one who lashed out with insults, by your own logic you must feel wrong. No need to neg or flame you, you've done enough to acquire your desired good laugh by looking at your own actions.

So I am the only one that has ever raised chickens or what? :p
You get them from a farm and then you would raise them to get big and fat and then you kill them. You grab them by their feet and put there neck on the chopping block. Then you slice its head of with an axe and its head falls off the side... 99% of the time the chicken will run around with its head cut off more sometimes even minutes. It eventually dies ovoiusly but there nerves kick in and they just go crazy once you decapitate them. I have actually gotten one to live for 2 days until it died of starvation. But in this case the reason the chicken lived is because he was able to feed it using a dropper (One of those things you use in science class) and it would have all the nutrients and stuff that it would need to survive. It could have lived and died of old age but instead it died because it choked on a tiny piece of corn.

How it was fed may have been a different story, but the chicken must have had some deformation to let it live when all other chickens die..

Guys, you can wikipedia this and get a version of the story that seems to make sense. The farmer basically missed the head when he tried to kill the chicken, leaving most of the brain stem (apparently). The brain was still there, the chicken just had no senses. He was fed through an eye-dropper, which placed nutrients directly into his throat. He lived for like 18 months, and apparently his existence was confirmed by researchers at some university. I wikied it when the thread was first made, too lazy too find it again.
Why did Myke the Chicken cross the road?
He wanted to get a HEAD...
Am I the only one here laughing at R G, instead of pondering on how a chicken lived without a head?
I mean, what is this brain stuff, it was just to amazing for death basically...
