I am currently working on a flash site for my clan. Now this may sound stupid, but after I get the domain name set aside how do i put the 2 together? does this even make sense? Any tips would be mucho appreciated.

actually, anyone answering this can probably help me a bit.
i need suggestions on hosting. must have server scripting, mySQL, cheap as possible, reliable. GoDaddy seems to be the pricey pop choice at the moment. Any other reliable sources?

Jeff's pretty good about keeping personal differences separate from business opportunities.

yes, but jeffery also has personal gain from such a transaction. I can just as easily go to a less-known hosting company, sign up for their reference service, and give myself a discount. I'm just looking for an unbiased, solid, reliable source.
If you have Jeffery's site, I'll take a look. (sorry, i'm confusing myself)

webonce.com
While I dislike how I got to them, they are a good company. More or less, Jeffery hooked me up with a decent price with one of his friend's hosting companies. After a few months, they were sold to webonce and all the data was transferred over. I got to keep my $4.99 a month, so it's good enough and it has everything you'll ever need.

So I still need help with this. The Web Designer I used, once I was done, saved to my C Drive and I have the domain name. I am at a standstill here people. Does anyone have any idea on how to do what I am asking?

to link a domain name to a hosting account, you post the name servers
(something like s3.hostname.com and s2.hostname.com)
into the domain registrar as name servers
this will redirect that domain name to your hosting company
and that puts 1 and 1 together to make 2

godaddy.com offers some of the best prices on the web. I used them for 2 years without problems, and so long as your content isnt questionable (propaganda, illegal downloads, sickening fetish porn, etc) you should have a good experience there too.
as for what are you doing wrong re: seeing nothing on your site.
First, did you have an index.html file ? generally thats the default page on most servers unless otherwise adjusted via php or other such scripts. If this is the case, sometimes the cache has older data kickin' around. Wait a bit, or try refreshing, or clearign your cache and reloading the page. Failing these steps, contact the host to figure it out. The reason can vary widely from host to host based on the server architecture, etc.

I don;t sell hosting, so have no personal gain from it. Also, those I do refer to webonce.com as a host, I gain nothing from, as I do not call in referrals.
There is a difference between directing someone to reliable hosting, or outright advertising for them to gain something (yes, such as Merdoc.)
Also, stay away from Host Gator and Godaddy. seriously. Only time to go with them is if you plan to never expand and/or move your website, otherwise you simply get screwed.
