rez=Ressurrection.

This is common in MMORPG's. A lot of these games have the skill to revive someone, so when you die, you can choose to respawn somewhere else or wait on the floor and ask desperately for a rez. The nice guys will rez you and you can begin play right where you left off instead of having to trek back out from a respawn point.

At least that's how it worked in SilkRoad.
