ARCANE MAGUS

These magi delved into the arcane so deeply, surrendering their souls up to evil, that their souls became bonded with the evil forces they comuned with and soon they no longer resembled their human forms. Also with the physical transformation came the mental one as well, they were no longer accepted into mainstream society. arcane magus stats

This unit uses it's arcane abilities to see the evil residing in the enemies hearts, he is able to use the opponents powers against them!

So whatever your opponent intends to do to the arcane magus, the arcane magus does to the enemy! all he does is touch the opponent and the attack comences!

problem is if the unit uses a BLOCKABLE ATTACK the ARCANE MAGUS will use a BLOCKABLE ATTACK!

example is if an arcane magus decides to attack a knight, the magus will do 17 damage to a knight IF the KNIGHT does not block!

As for a dragon tyrant or a LW they are not so lucky, since they both have HEAVY DUTY UNBLOCKABLE ATTACKS AND HIGH RECOVERY the arcane magus can severly cripple these units 1 ON 1 but can never beat units 1 on 1....

As for focus units he imitates their attack upon them going into focus to maintain that effect.. ie freeze,paralyze, poison or even stone.

So, does it duplicate the attack when the opponent uses it or when you use it?

If when you use it, it will beat a pyromancer, GA or lightning ward one-on-one.

It is able to use their powers against them.

it can only deal the same damage that the opponent is cappable of doing.

That doesn't answer my question.

Can he walk up to a poison wisp that hasn't done a thing all game and poison it? If so, would he poison anything else as well?

yes it can walk up to a unit that hasent done anything and use it's powers against it.

it only affects one unit.....it will poison the whisp, and freeze the frost golem.

it merely touches and then the effect happens.

Thats a nice unit! However, there is still ine question. What does happen when it hit a cleric or furgon? Neither of them is focus, so i guess what. Will it heal enemys cleric for 12 HP? Will it enshrub the furgon, making it able of doing special? Other than that, a very nice unit.

It wouldn't allow the furgon to do the special, because it would have to be next to the furgon to shrub it. But I think it would summon a single shrub right on top of the furgon - that is, do nothing.

This is a great implementation of the "copying other units' abilities" concept. However, I think it's underpowered because most other units have either ranged attacks or better defense - this unit only copies the power, so he can't really copy the other specialties that make the unit good. He would probably only be useful against dragons.

Dragon Speaker Mage
Dark Magic Witch
Lightning Ward
And in pot shotting the
Dragon Tyrant!

Not so good against the mele based units or the golems, since the golems have for the most part better range and will usualy attack first!

This unit was meant for pot shots. Strategic implementations and timely strikes.

And as for the furgon prehaps it will make the furgon summon shrubs in a cross shaped pattern.. where it stands ...(if those squares are available.)

Actually, I think it's pretty ineffective against the pyromancer, DSM and DMW. Their range and multi-targetting are very valuable, and this unit doens't copy those, so an assassin or BR will be more useful against those units. It does beat those units one-on-one, but having the range of a melee unit keeps it from doing a good job of hunting them down. The lightning ward causes this unit serious problems as well, but this unit could be useful for striking the killing blow (lightning-dragon-magus, despite heal). But the greatest use would be against the dragon, which does move into danger and must be hit hard.

Yes, you make grand observations. Very true indeed.
Against a dragon tyrant this unit rox it's sox.

Think of having your own DT blast the opponents DT then your MAGUS walk up and shank it!

THATS 44 DAMAGE IN 2 TURNS to an opponents DT! dt is at 24 hp!

IF it is a LW war it takes the opponents LW into the dangerzone very quikly!
You attack the opponents LW with your LW.....move in AM and blast it

thats 50 damage in 2 turns! in 2 turns a defensive stronghold is wasted!
then it sits at a mere 6 hp!

This unit is also a bit sturdier than a regular mage, and has 12 armor
that makes it able to withstand 2 knight hits!
