hehe you thought this was another one of those. Anyways, does anyone remember when they first started and beat someone that was just wickedly insane? i remember my first ever game vrs rantzu1 where it came down to my knight with one hit remaining vrs his knight with one hit remaining that was also sitting next to his lw. i managed to get a side shot on it so i had a 60% chance to win. i beat rantzu at 12:38 in the morning and was phsyched out.

I used to play frylock every single time the guy logged on. I'm almost positive he probably thought of my as some annoying kid, the second he logged on "frylock game?" every single time he logged on. at one point i was 0-7 vrs him and he logged on and we started to play, my modified vrs of his rush that just about 99.9% of the people on tao used. Rush games used to actually take awile too since a rush was just how you were set it didnt mean full on aggressive throw your pieces at the person. Our game had been going on about 30 min and i, with my headphones on, turned around caquse i heard a peculiar noise from my tv which was playing in the background. i had been so involved with playing my tao idol (and in the first game i ever beat him in i might add) that i didnt realize there had been one of those hbo pornos going on behind me.

What happened to those days? There are about 2 players on this game today i truly enjoy playing because they reek of old school style. i happily lost 3 times to one of them in the past 2 days simply because it is the most fun i have on this game anymore. I miss the old school.

I think I know what you mean, I mean sure, I wasn't around here in what you probably consider the old days, but I've been here for a while, and I think I know what you mean. I think it's just the realisation that you never know how good things are untill they're gone, this thing that is now gone I believe is the idea of a whole new idea, which TAO at this point, isn't anymore. It's kind of like how it would suck to have your best friend as your sibling, because then they wouldn't be as speacial, in other words, after a while TAO losses its glamour and you want it back. Or atleast, that's how I see it from my perspective ;)

Oh, and is you (or one of) ingame names Muffinman?

And do you want a game, GL lobby is boring me ot death...

My first big win was against powza. He was on GL and it was a free game. It came down to a dragon and a knight, I believe. It was an awesome feeling to beat a 1600, considering I was a 1200 myself. My almost win came against zoma a little before that, but he forced a draw with my drag vs his knight left. I still have great game I like to talk about still. For example: My games against bludz, Dape, Cuath, and Mag.

Like my signature used to say...

"You know you've made it to the very top when people brag about beating you."

(to the tune of Jimmy-Crack-Corn)

"Frylock double post 'n' I don't care..."

As an addendum, I would also like to add the following:

You know your legacy is secure when 2 years after your prime, people still take pride in having beat you, once upon a time.

A few of my first impressive wins durng my first month of play (I didn't even know LOS yet) involved beating Cauthon's (1550) rush with my turtle by 7 units and flawlessing CRX's (1750) turtle in a same sides turtle game. I also remember coming one turn away from beating Monkus (1580-1600) opposite sides. I have had a lot of other games like this, but I don' really remember right now. I was really pumped on those three games I mentioned, but I don't think those guys were playing to their potential... I hope not..

Back in 2005 I was a straight up nub. Super protective of my l33t 1138 stats only playing crappy people. Well one day when I was fishing, Jiu-Jitsu jumped me. He had a turt and I had some same side corner set that I can't quite remember. I won with by a frosty and cleric when I froze his scout. I was in a great mood the rest of the day.

Hm, recently, before some past accounts I had a huge roll that got me from 900 to 1200 in a few hours. The great part was most of the people were 1200-1300 greys and like two golds. I played like three noobs and in total I lost like, once. :)
