What happens if you get framed?

I was on gl yesterday and some grey asked me for a tryout into his clan. He had around 750 stats and normally i wouldnt tryout people like that, but i was nice and gave him a try. Part of the tryout, to check if hes a noob, i ask them to type "tactics expert" no spaces. Their reactions shows me how long they have been playing for and the amount of experience they gained. The grey then says that he took a screenshot and that hell send it to a mod. I don't think that is fair. I got FRAMED!

That is completely fair typing Tactics expert is a form of Scamming (http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24459), and should not be done under any circumstances personally if i had it done to myself i would report that person.

He asked for a tryout to get into my clan. I have 1375 stats and am trying to get ranked. I wouldnt play a 750 stats person without a reason. I put that in the tryout because i dont want noobs that dont know what that does in it. Do u honestly think i need to cheat to beat a 750 grey?

Eesh, it would be easier to ask them if they want to know a cheat.
If they say yes, they are a noob.
If they say no, they aren't.
As long as you don't go beyond that, it isn't scamming.

And I can think of dozens of other ways to find out if they are a noob without scamming.

And just because someone falls for that trick, doesn't mean they aren't worthy of your clan. Noobs can be good players too, you should try and teach them what to avoid, not prey on their inexperience.

There is no need in tricking someone to do the tactics expert of even the Alt F4 trick. They are lame, and a trial out is to check out the players skill in how he performs and plays against you, not some kind of general knowledge thing.

I don't think he should be given a second chance, because from the looks of it, it looked like he was tricking him and that is unfair, lame and immature. He knows that the trick is not allowed as such on TAO and people would regard that as unexeptable behavior. I hope that when Templar recruits people, he should keep to the stat requirement he recruits to and also the trial out to see whether the person is good enough. Stupid general knowledge things does not test or determine how good a player is at playing TAO. He should be judged by his level of skill and how well he plays. I hope Templar learns from this senario and doesnt do this again.

So what does this mean for the trial? Did he pass the noob test because he recognized the scamming attempt or did he fail because he is trying to get you deleted? Please do not keep us in suspense!

Scenario #2:

Opponent attack's him/herself two times in a row with Pyro.

Scenario #3: *My personal favorite*

Opponent moves assassin to LW and attacks.

If you would like some more ideas, feel free to ask. (I'll try to remember all the stupid moves I made when I started)

And moving your asassin to the LW is not really a stupid move if after getting zapped, heals and then you hit a Knight successfully on the Asassin. The asassin would be on 2 HP ready for asassin bomb. But thats another good way of testing if the person is a nub or not.

Seeing as I'm the deleting mod, allow me to comment (since this is now a public issue). I was originally aproached by templar with the same general excuse. Then it turned to "I was educating people!" at which point I gave him the bold red text stating the vastly better ways to educate people.

No, you were not framed. Being framed is when someone else does something wrong and makes it look like you did it. In this case, YOU DID IT.

There are no reasons, at all, that excuse scamming, boosting, massive spamming, massive cursing, etc. I don't care how "educational", excited, ignorant, or pissed off you are, respectively.

i first got a confession by templar in game (basically the first post in this thread), followed by two screenshots of the incident by the grey, followed by this thread.

Without a confession, ONE screenshot is enough to delete people for just about anything, with the exception of boosting, which needs multiple shots for proof.

But yeah, if I see a gold telling a grey to "push F5!" with anything other then "j/k" within half a second afterwards (and you can tell which are jokes), I have no trouble removing them from the game.

What you did to Templar was both fair and unfair. He did technically scam a person and i agree he should be punished. But deleting his acount is harsh! He made it to like 1400+ stats and all gone in a sec. Thats the only thing that runescape has on this game. It gives second chances! But rules are rules and he got what he deserved!
