View Full Version : Computer Game Trouble

Hey everyone. I have a Tecra A8 Toshiba Laptop. It is pretty new. When I try to play a computer game, it either doesn't work at all (I can install the thing, but when I click play the screen turns black and it LOOKS like the game is going to start, but then it just acts like I clicked escape and the computer goes back to the desktop screen), or the screen it is played on is a small fraction of the center of my screen. My screen is around 13 inches big, and the game screen is about 5 inches big. It is VERY annoying. So basically, when I actually try to play a good computer game (on a CD, not an online game) it either doesn't work, or I am forced to play on a screen three times smaller than my standard screen.

...And most of the good ones I'd like to play are the ones that don't work... :(

Has this happened to anyone before? Do any of you know how to fix it? I figure it isn't difficult to fix, but I am not very good with computers and don't want to go into something that may cause a problem with my computer without your suggestions first. Thanks in advance. :)

Sorry, had to bump this up a few...

I really would like to fix this problem. Once someone good with computers notices this thread (like Dirka Dirka), I think my problem will be fixed.

And Raging, thanks for the.... effort. :p

But one of those 2 things happens with EVERY game. It's not the game, it's something with my computer. And the sad thing is, this laptop is specialized in "gaming". (One of its 4-5 specialties listed on the site for the Tecra A8).

Upgrade your drivers, and download the newest software for the components you have in your computer.

Like I said, I am not too good with computers. Can someone simplify what he just said and tell me exactly what I am supposed to do?

I would appreciate it.

I can't really help you out, but do you realize how huge your sig is? Condense the text, and you have like 3 images too many. It's ridiculous. It stretches your posts out, and I bet it would stretch the screen on a smaller monitor.
