As you may or may not know, I have a new gold on GL named bncydevdy. Today Omega TeamUSA offered me a freestyle game. I started to set for a the free game, then he says "Or do you want to turt alpha rules?"
and I reply with "Actually, yes." So then I set up for a turt game. When I entered the game he had a rush.

I asked him numerous times if we agreed on a turtle game, and he said nothing. I asked him to surrender so I could reset and he replied with "i cant surrender." So we played the game out and he did not surrender. Just wanted to let everyone know about this so they could watch out for him. I didn't get any screen shots, but I can assure you this is 100 percent true. During the battle Dabooz talked to his guild leader, Obi Wan Kenobi, about it amd he said that Omega had trouble understanding english.:dry:

During the middle of this I talked to the leader of TeamUSA, Obi-Wan Kenobi. He told me it was MY responsibility to educate omega on alpha rules! Come again? He's in YOUR clan, which apparantly stands for fair and ethical play, he clearly suggests a turt game then doesn't use a turt, and then refuses to surrender. The guy, if you really stand for fair and ethical play, should be kicked out. Obi-Wan should have told him to surrender. He did none of those things, he told me to calm down and educate his players...lol. TeamUSA is a complete joke in my book now.

Ok everyone thank you for the heads up. I already talked to si-leader in the lobby today about all this. Here is the conclusion of the matter:
Guzi3 (Omega-TeamUSA) is from the Phillipines. He has non-native level english and it takes a bit to explain stuff to him. He is a good gray and has only been playing gold for 1 month. I have talked to Guzi and told him to follow the rules. BUT.....
Instead of you guys shouting and jumping up and down and throwing a hissy fit over one instance simply relax and communicate better. All you need to do is explain to Omega what Alpha turt is. Hell, I don't even know what Alpha rules are. Jesus, all of you are far more experienced golds and should be more than happy to explain to a new gold what alpha turt is.

This is what should have happened.....
The game starts. You notice Omega is not Alpha rules. You tell Omega that his set is not Alpha rules. You tell Omega what Alpha Rules are. Ask him if he understands. If he does not respond tell him that you will report the matter to me (Obi-Wan Kenobi) because he broke the rules. If he still does not respond tell him he is not playing fair and you are upset. Then tell him he needs to be fair and follow the rules or you will report him to me.

I bet $100 you guys didn't do that and didn't even try to be helpful. You just stomped your feet and ran off half cocked. Take it down notch. Relax. This is a game. Help others and don't be so quick to take offense. Jesus, you guys should no better than that.

Look, I don't know all of the details. But it sounds to me like the BOTH of you are at fault for not communicating clearly with eachother prior to starting the game. Dape, Omega/Guzi3 was trying to ask for a game in his own non-native English way. Basically he asked 'Freestyle or turt game anyone?' But Phantom never acknowledged what style and just started fighting (according to Guzi). Also, just because someone asks for something does not mean they should automatically know what it is. There are plenty of words that people use and yet do not know the meaning of. Hell, I use the word PhD but I have no idea what the Ph stands for....

You can not expect every player to know the "TAO education level" of every other player, especially if the opponent sounds like he knows what he's talking about. If someone at a cafe asks "would you like to try a sample of our new moca-berry smoothie?", and you say "yes", you don't expect him to demand you make it yourself. You expect him to give you what he said. Not salt-water, not a pony, not a baseball bat to the head - but a moca-berry smoothie.

Similarly, when someone says "alpha rules", you expect him to give you that. No, it's no one's fault but the person who used the term incorrectly. Ignorance should not be tolerated. *IF* he didn't know, he should have asked. HOWEVER, as people have already mentioned in this short thread, he knows EXACTLY what alpha rules are. SO you can't even make that really poor excuse.

If you actually took the time to read the posts in this thread you would see that Omega stated that Phantom never responded or agreed to a style. Omega first suggested free, then suggested turt. Phantom never communicated or confirmed the style and just started playing. Even in game Phantom didn't say anything until Omega started gaining advantage. Thus, this was a communication breakdown between Phantom and Omega. Also, you guys are blowing this WAY out of proportion. This is a single incident of poor communication. Tell me when you have something better to complain about.

I have to agree with geoffrey I have played omega loadsa times most days i play him and he agree`s Alpha turt rules and not once has he setup incorrectly but in his defence I have never found him to be dishonest or untrustworthy and reading all of the thread I have to agree the fault lies with both party`s to a certain degree and I think the thing to take out of this to all players is make sure both players have confirmed the playing style and rules before they enter into a game

As the leader of his clan, its his responsibility to handle any situation fairly for all parties, and he has a duty to make sure the accused member gets the proper chance to defend himself. If he explained things to omega, then the situation is handled, I don't see what you guys expect from him.
