Ok, disclaimer: This is a bragging thread.

So, this weekend, I finally finished a journey that's been 20 years in the making. I graduated law school. I went straight through school from kindergarten at age 5, until now, at age 25. It's a big weight off my shoulders, being this young with an advanced degree - and now the fun really starts. I'll get to be in court a lot, working to put bad guys away. Plus, by getting done so early, I've got tons of time ahead of me to do whatever else I like.

Yes, I am bragging, but recall the red disclaimer at the top.

Anyway, I am thrilled to have completed this stage in my life. To anyone else who has recently graduated high school, college, or an advanced degree, congratulations to you as well.

Oh, as something funny, a law degree is a doctorate, so I can actually say I'm a doctor. But I don't think I will, since then I'll probably get sued by a real doctor.

Here are some graduation pictures. I gotta say, I love the rented, wrinkled, velvet robes. And the crazy floppy philosopher hats. I felt like an extra from a movie about the 16th century. :bad:

The degree and a close-up of the awesome hat. (I fuzzed out my name on the diploma to avoid all you internet stalkers!) (http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/673/fuzzydiplomakc9.jpg)

The fam. (http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/5936/law07014ul8.jpg)

The girlfriend. (http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/8823/law07028ix4.jpg)

Nice graduation present. (http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/9458/law07027we8.jpg)

The only 2 "doctors" in the family - my dad is a PhD, and teaches graduate Chinese at The Univ. of Colorado in Boulder. (http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/9231/law07026of0.jpg)

well congrats on your accomplishments, and like you stated there is a lot of time left to do whatever it is you like. Don't take any of these things for granted and stay hungry when you are in the courtroom. What I mean is never be satisfied :)

This is good news and even though I do not know you personally I can say I am genuinely happy for your early success...keep it up.

A sincere congratulations to you and good luck with your future endeavors. Keep us posted on what happens with your career. :)

Did you throw your lil philospher's hat up in the air, and jump up, with one leg bent... suspended in the air for about 3 seconds with a smile that just says "this is the happiest day of my life."

Congratumalations! You know, you look a LOT like my old youth pastor. And tell your girlfriend she's very beautiful.

Try not to get sucked into being the type of lawyer we all hate... no matter what the business tries to tell you, maintain your morals and don't give in to corruption. Or, so help me, I will have to toast your cleric with my dragon tyrant!!

I am planning on doing graduate studies eventually, but it is financially beyond me at the moment. I have a bachelor's in music, and am a composer for piano and orchestra.

Thank you, everyone!

Uniq - the hat was a rental. Sorry.

Jeff - since we live in different states, my advice would probably not be good. State contract law can differ quite a bit from state to state.

crx - I lived in Boulder all my life before college - 1982 until summer 2000. I went to Fairview. Where'd you go?

Johann - Well, at least for now, I intend to be a prosecutor, so to some extent, I am my own boss. Junior prosecutors get more leeway than junior associates at a large firm.

It's not quite done, though...I still have to take the bar exam. It's a 2-day test, full of essays and multiple choice. It shouldn't be too hard to pass, but it's still a lot of prep work. Anyway, thanks again for the kind wishes! I really do appreciate them.

As of right now I'm graduating high school in one week (FINALLY). I'm taking a semester off, then going to Cape Cod Community College from there for two years for philosophy. From there I'm doing two years in the Peace Corps, and then upon the completion of my tour I'm going to transfer to a four year school as a junior and major in theology (most likely tribal religions).

Congratulations, Frylock. That's pretty cool. I think the justice system sucks, but oh well. I'm happy for you nonetheless. : )

It is good to see that hours and hours of trying to tempt you into playing some games didn't stop you from getting your degree. Congrats Fry. It only seems like last year when you told us you had to slow down on TAO to get serious for law school. Man, time flies. It's time to defend those guys from adult swim for posting your picture all over Boston and idiots thinking it was a bomb.

Crap, it's Medemia! Talk about rising from the grave.

meat - I will practice in Portland, most likely.

Berz - I really liked UO. Eugene's a nice town with lots of stuff, and the campus is pretty nice. I hear the undergrad dorms aren't too comfy, though. But daaaamn, there's a lot of eye candy here. That's one thing my little private liberal arts college didn't have.

Also, thanks to dirka for the neg rep that called me lame. I appreciate it, because really, when you dislike something, that probably means it's pretty decent.

Maybe we need a frylock unit in his memoriam, or should i say honor.

Frylock has the ability, if said unit attacks his client to prossecute at will.

For every square away the offending unit attacks frylocks allies, the chance of prosecution drops 20%
Frylock has the ability to prosecute up to 5 squares away
100% prosecution rate 1 square away,80% 2 squares away, ect........and if LOS is blocked Frylock will have to call upon a nearby allied unit as a witness to verify the assault.

this unit counts as 5 drachma coins.

I can speak less than the rudiments of some Chinese sentences. And yes, I am a half-breed: half Chinese and half Italian. Probably explains my cooking prowess, doesn't it? :)

And as for mantis' black text...I'm too scared to even comment.
