Hey there everyone,
I am looking for someone thats has knowledge of setting up a PHPbb board (www.phpbb.com)
I am trying to just get my forums up and I am lost.
I have been trying to add "MOD"s however this is not working.
All I am trying to setup I know you can do in PHPbb, however I can not seem to do it.
Here is what I have done:
1) I have setup the phpbb board.
2) I have setup "EasyMOD v3."
3) I have setup a style.
Here is what I need to do
1) Get a Quick Reply MOD.
2) Get a Show the information of the last post in a forumMOD... Were it shows the title, and the user that made the post.
3) Get a "Cash MOD" and a 'Store" MOD.
And that is really all I want to do.
I can not pay anyone however you will be greatly thanked and I willl do almost anything that is free.
So please, help

roflcoptr?
yeah bust - i'm help.
i'm guessing by "mod" you're talking about a modifier hack, not a moderator.
anyway, start here (http://www.phpbb.com/mods/). Find what you're looking for. most (decent) hacks have instructions. If you need help with installation, I can see if I have time. I won't do the search for you - you need to make a stab at doing your homework for yourself. Lemme know what problems you run into, and I'd be happy to help.

Are you using a free forum hosting, or do you have actual hosting for it? Are you using an install script, or installing it manually? Do you have access to chmod files/folders as needed? Are you deadset to using phpbb, or would you consider other forums such as SMF? If custom installing, ahve you tried to find a fully modded version for installation?

yeah i was going under the assumption he had access to... everything...
you recommend Simple Machines over phpBB jeffery? On another note: invisionfree vs vB? I'm with vB, and someone recently claimed IF might be better.. ... which was unexpected

If I was paying for a forum, I;d go Vbull.
As for free forums, yes, I recommend SMF over phpbb anyday. There are still some hosts that will not allow phpbb to run on their servers due to instability and security issues.

phpbb Fully Modded. ;)

Yes by "MOD"s I meant modifications, or "hacks".
I thank you for the link I will have to look around, and see what I can find. I have got a few off the site before posting here, but they never seemed to work.

I am hosting it.
I am doing both, some files can not be installed by the script.
I have full access.
I am not deadset however I have never seen how SMF is better then PHPbb.
And no, I have never seen a fully modded version.

I say VB, however I can see how some would say IF.
If I was paying for a forum, I;d go Vbull.

SMF is more secure and easier to admin than a phpbb. The Mod system is easier, as most can be uploaded and installed via the package system.
