Powza - I sent you, pils, and solingro a pm. Read it. For those of you who are wondering - those 3 will play a round-robin to determine which one takes dabooz' spot in the starting lineup. They deserve 1st crack, since they are the original subs.

Re: ninai - I am probably going to boot him, with team approval, if he doesn't show up soon.

What this means to everyone else: there is 1 spot open for sure (because one of the current subs will take dabooz' spot). If ninai is booted, I intend for that spot to be openly available.

The competition for these 2 spots will most likely take the form of a mini-tourney, run by me and judged by the current team. I am thinking that this tourney will be "semi-closed." What this means, is that in the thread that I will make, people may post, saying they would like to try out. However, that does not guarantee them a spot in the mini. The current team will have veto power over ANY entrant. No person's vote is weighted more than anyone else's. (e.g. my vote will have the same weight as allstar's).

If a majority of the team vetoes an entrant, then they will not compete.

I also reserve the executive right to deny entrance. This will ONLY be used in clear cases of incompetence - for example, if Vamp7 or people of his caliber try to join. :)

Current grey team, I need your ok on this, sooner rather than later so I can get things going.

I just recieved a PM by Gig and I tried to catch up with this thread a little bit.

After seeing Fry's 17-0 record I started following this thread loosely until the team was made. Afterwards I figured it would only consist out of useless spamming. Therefore I haven't responded sooner.

The reason I'm not in this is because I was in Mith's Tourney, the BST Tournament (Mith, Powza and I never finished it for the grey championship), and the FPS Turtle Team Tournament.

Besides that, June always sucks ass for me because I have multiple exams. The tournament is in July and August, I have plenty of time then. I'm not going on a vacation, because I have to work for my 6 months exchange program in Ankara, Turkey. That's not going to be awesome at all.. Oh wait... Yes it is.

Oh... and about activity in this tournament and what not.

May I remind you that the tournament wasn't the sole reason we based the formation of our Turlte team on either, and this tournament has been going on since the 20th of May and you have picked people with like 7 games as well. So in all honesty, I'm not sure if the tournament should be the sole reason you base your team on. Besides, the real tournament only starts the 15th of July, we have plenty of time to catch up.

Basically, there are simply still very good (maybe better) players out there, you haven't even considered yet. And I think this is perfect time to do so. People like Mith, Realist and Hool (coincidentally my teammates in Super-Strict tournament :bigsmile:) are amazing at grey, so I wouldn't just stick to the candidates from this tournament.

I'm arrogant enough to think I can hang with the above mentioned players as well, so I would officially like to try out for the final spots of the team.

I'm not sure if I can function under Frylock as captain, though :)

I think we are here to have fun, and have an enjoyable tournament between the servers. Not just to win. Winning is a bonus in my eyes.

P.S. What is wrong with the term "morally wrong"?

Because who desides what is morally wrong. I can't legally smoke marijuana, nor drink, because someone has decided that is moraly wrong for me to do so. I do not believe either of these things are morally wrong. Morality is a personal thing, and SHOULD not be a societal thing, as it is currently. Society should not decide what is moral for others.

Also - unless ninai contacts us by the time sign-ups for the mini are over, he will be booted. That way, once the mini starts, we know exactly how many spots are up for grabs.

Ok. I haven't heard a single current team member voice an opinion against the tourney.

So I think that's what we're going to go ahead and do.

To recap: Powza, Solingro, and Pils are playing for dab00z' spot. They are all welcome to enter the mini, as well. But the player who wins their round-robin will be withdrawn from the mini (as that person will already have a spot). The remaining 2, of course, will be free to continue in the mini.

I will probably leave sign-ups open in the mini for just under a week. Like we've discussed, this is not a full-blown tourney, and those who would be interested are probably already aware of it.

I'll put more details in the tourney thread, which I will make tomorrow. Gigolo, I know you like to jump the gun on these kind of things...please refrain from making the thread yourself. :)

The ninai issue is still up in the air. I think we'll just put it to a team vote. Team members ONLY may vote for ninai to 1) stay in the starting lineup; 2) be a sub; or 3) be booted.

If ninai stays in any capacity, there is only 1 spot to fill from the mini tourney. If ninai goes, we have 2 spots to fill.

It is unfair if someone who dropped out with a descision like "I lost interest", than when it does get to teh end and someone else needs to be picked "I want another chance!" It is lame, and unfair. It would have been ok maybe in booz's situation, having something go wrong, not losing interest.

Nothing against him, but he hasn't really came here to defend his spot on the team. Seems like a preview of the tournament. Lets solve potential problems before they actually cause problems, shall we?

I think I should be automatically in the starting team instead of having to play off..You all know I am decent and the only reason I didnt get in first off was because of time differences and a lack of games. I just gold jumped the whole time cos there was no one on to play. Check that thread.. Also I have positive records against several of the players on the team which I have played significantly and also flawless records against two members.

Thats my opinion anyway....

That approach cant be taken in my opinion as like you powza im on a different timezone to most and still managed to play some games but not as much as the others due again to timezones which apparently makes me an inactive player and although i had a better record than several people on the team and subs due to my timezone and my apparent inactivity i wasnt selected but hey thats just the way it is I guess

Gonna cause a lot more competition now that there is only one spot open.
But at the same time, if Fry stays true to the original plan, that last spot will just be sub...
So maybe people won't be so anxious to completley reconstruct the entire team...
