Ugh. The forums are sucking. Completely.

Yes, it's not the first "Forums have gone to the dogs" thread, nor will it be the last. I've probably already made some. Hell, I've made my share of stupid threads, and more than my share of rants. But I'm at it again. But it's not a pure rant like normal. I've actually put thought. For one of the few times in me life.

I've become a less frequent visitor of the forums these days, first because of the horrors of WoW, then because of my parents seeing my grades after the horrors of WoW. Yea, I still play, and yea, I still watch the forums, I did with WoW. I just found less to post about, realizing that bashing every idiot on the forums means I'll end up going through about 95% of the forums, I've stopped that for the most part.

There's just so many idiotic threads. I look, read the titles of a few, check up on a few of the big threads (Mostly WoW and RD) because of the stupidity of these threads. Idiots are shouting at other idiots, of whom they are only slightly higher in intelligence than, if they are indeed smarter. Yea, I was once on of them. Ignorantly stupid. Most of us were at some point. Some of you may never have shown that idiocracy. There's not much that's been going down of interest anymore.

Every thread seems to be countering another. We don't take out our problems in their threads it seems, but rather, by making incredibly stupid threads "THEY SUCK" style threads, or mocks of a person's threads. It's just lame. Once upon a time, these things were done with care. Now, every time I look at GD, there's crap. A mock of someones thread I always seem to see. Some seem to think that GD Means that it's the best place to post for your questions about the game, for example, I see "Hello" threads inside it, it seems as though the creator hasn't read the forums much at all, definitely not the stickies.

So I'm just here, ranting about why the forums have gone down. Yea, not bringing much useful to them in myself. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who feels this way. I'd prefer that people with under 1000 posts not respond to this thread. I'm sorry, the odds are, you don't understand what I'm saying. You're part of what I'm ranting about.

All of those imitation/joke threads are getting annoying. Its way over done, people need to save it for when its actualy funny.

At the first post: Things change, people remember the good and think that things have gotten worse whether or not they have. I haven't been around these forums an incredibly long time, but I've noticed what seems like a decrease in bots (though they may have not always been around), an increase in moderation of the forums (though it had decreased already), and a decrease in the "Omfgz0rz, TAO sucks becuz im not a modernator!!1!!" type threads. Alot of the quality may have gone down, but Im sure the diffrence between now and then is alot less than you make of it.

That's the point. When we only see them once every few weeks/months, it's fine, but they're occurring like daily.

There's a big of a problem with all of this. Clearly it seems you are searching for some answer, some solution, some... reasonable voice to comment about what you were saying. However, there's not much that actually can be said.

Let's look at the potential outcomes:
-someone disagrees with you. They say so and move on with not much past a one-liner. This isn't what you're looking for.

-someone agrees with you. They have nothing to add because you said it so well already.

-someone agrees with you and wants to provide a solution, but none exists.

What I'm trying to say is, there's no possible scenario where you get a satisfying answer (sorry to say).

I feel your qualms are valid and legitimate, but personally don't agree with them. Forums are generally always about the same (mas o menos). There is however an observation bias that tends to set in with most people after getting bored with them a while and not finding them too entertaining.

Let me take another approach by simply asking you this: Which threads did you thoroughly enjoy previously (before you felt the forums started going downhill)?
