Ok, not exactly what the title may bring to your mind at first, but that's ok.

What I want to know is which do you think is better, the Classic Rock produced by British bands, or by American bands. While the British have probably a better top 3 bands (or maybe top 5 if you want to stretch it) I think overall there was just more good music and many more American bands.

I dunno, you guys decide.

Alright, after doing a bit of research, I will have to say that this is not really comparable. Both put out amazing rock bands in the early years.

I honestly can't choose. I love rock and roll and won't taint it with a "Who is better, us or them" debate.

Britain has a ton of awesome rock bands from the 50's 60's and 70's. The US has a ton of bands also. All of which I love.

Britain was more "punk" while America still had old school music, that why The BEatles, Rolling Stones and the rest of them revolutionized AMerican music.

America has alot of different music, cause while the "Invasion" began, we still Dave Matthews, Charlie Daniels, and alot more at the time. In present, I think America still leads the group in terms of metal and rock, but only after Britain introduced it here.

Besides, Chuck Berry is a god.

Give me your top ten favorite Beatles songs, or if that's to hard, top 20...Hmm, that is tough, I'll just do top 10. In no particular order:
Revolution
Here Comes the Sun
Strawberry Fields Forever
Lovely Rita
Dear Prudence
Good Day Sunshine
I Am the Walrus
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
In My Life
Eight Days a Week

It's hard to compile a list like that, because my favorite Beatles' songs change with the mood I'm in.

pfff, music transcends location, it doesn't matter where they come from, how many did, or where the best/worst did

Those that want to lay claim to a group as being "theirs" nationality just don't get it.

Well, That depends on what music of his you listen to. A lot of it was more Latin American music that sounded nothing like the classic rock Americans were producing.
