The Vanguard is the elite warrior of the army. Other soldiers follow his lead as tears apart enemy lines with his trusty voulge.

Vanguard
HP : 58
Power : 27
Armor : 0
+ 3 turn Recovery
+ Unblockable
+ 20% Blocking

Bloodthirsty : The Vanguard turns into the Bloodthirsty Vanguard whenever an enemy dies. This sets his recovery to 0 and makes his next attack add +1 recovery to his target.

3 Movement
1 Range
You are only allowed to have one Vanguard on the field. The Vanguard counts as two units.

Where to begin? This guy has more armor than any other unit, the highest HP out of all of the human units, and to top it off, his attack is unblockable. On the other hand, three turns is an awfully long time. He has the same blocking % as a witch and 27 attack power. His appearance is that of a shieldless, capeless knight wielding a voulge.

EDIT: Armor is now 0 due to suggestions. To clarify, the +1 recovery only applies when he becomes the Bloodthirsty Vanguard (the same way Furgons become enraged when friendly units die). As for the "similar to Beast Rider" comment, the Beast Rider uses his polearm to stab enemies. The Vanguard would swing his voulge with all his might and hack enemies apart.

36 armor no good. UNBLOCKABLE! RIDICULOUS! unstoppable stoned.

not a bad try tho, perhaps make him have that vengance attack, keep that, get ridd of opponent +1 recoverey and drop his stats man..... unless it counts a 2 units.. even then it's still too nasty.

What is the movement range?

Too nasty in a turt, this a DT and a LW would prevent any insurgency into a turtle.

With 36 armor a 3 wait turn is nothing.

I understand he is supposed to be superior to most warriors, but based off this, he is unstoppable.

Most of the information you asked for is in the first post. His movement is 3, you can only have one on the field, he counts as two units, and think about it like this. The Dragon Tyrant has teleportation, 28 power (enough to kill witches in one blast), better movement, is unblockable, has better blocking %, and has a ranged attack. I agree that I might've failed to consider just how much armor he has, so I'm thinking somewhere around 26 might be more appropriate.

If you're considering keeping his attack, range, and wait turn the same, then a VERY lower armor rate would be better. Every unit has its weakness to exploit, this unit has none, making the game a pain in the ass to play.

I suggest you lower the Armor, and definitely get rid of the Unblockable. Unless this is some kind of alien, my Knight will eventually find a way to block that pole-like weapon. By the way, Beast Riders also wield polearms, and normally two different units don't wield the same weapon.

Bloodthirsty...is this a cannibal? o.O overpowered

He's pretty overpowered. It's like a dragon basically in the bloodthirsty or whatever form, except with the add a recovery thing.

Completely Overpowered, you would never lose if you stoned it in an opp side turt.

i also think it is overpowered. also, can you clarify how long the state of "Bloodthirsty Vanguard" lasts?
i see the concept is basically of an extremely powerful, offensive warrior, who doesnt have much in the way of defence. however, it is simply too powerful in attack when in the bloodthirsty state. being able to kill nearly anything in 2 attacks, and then being unblockable AND have very high HP is nasty. then giving him 0 recovery after an enemy dies? that pushes it over the limit methinks.
