-=Ancient ooze only feeling fear and anger would turn his greatest opponents against his friends and allies.=-
Name: Ancient Ooze (If you have a better name for it ill change it)

Range:1 (attack like a knight)

This is a great unit that would add alot of strategy and fun to Tao. PLEASE read EVERYTHING because this is VERY interesting unit, and a new idea that can work beautifully in this game.
Ancient Ooze is a Ooze unit that would be same color as team, and should look like a puddle crawling and sliding aross the floor.
BASIC- Ancient Ooze doesn't heal with a cleric ( that would make him to powerful) instead he is like a reverse wisp he adds 2 life to HIS life by every passing of a turn. This is a very slow and weak unit alone, and can be killed easily.
ATTACK- Ancient ooze takes control of enemy or friendly units. Ooze is a parsite, that needs a host to do any fighting. Once it has chosen a host it will be on until that host dies. When this host unit dies, ooze will be left in is place without a host. Then ooze can choose a new host to control. When ancient ooze is on a unit, that unit is exactly the same, it doesn't get the 2 extra life every turn. (when ooze is controling someone that unit will have and Aura around that unit that will be the color of the controling team. --For example ooze can protect the cleric so that no close combat range units come near him, or you can host a friendly unit during the game. That knight marches up into enemy territory the knight world end up dieing and ooze would be left in the dead knights place without a host. -=This can be good and bad=- If ooze is to far away to get a new host he will easily die in 2 hits from any unit. If ooze is close enough to take a new host then you now control that unit, and yoru cleric heals that unit, and you make that moves for that unit.
Now this may sound to powerful but it can easily be stopped. A counter to a Furgon is the mud golem. a counter to Ancient Ooze is the Frost golem. -=Example=- you want to move ooze into enemy territory at take a unit. but ooze can only move 1 space then has to recover for 2 turns. So i find a friendly "knight" unit as a host. then you can move around as the knight carring the ooze up the field at a faster speed. Now lets say the opponent knows what you doing and he wants to stop ya from taking a unit of his. Now he can walk his frost golem up and parlyze this "knight". Now this knight is parlyzed, when this knight is killed just like normal ancient ooze will be in his place still parlyzed too. Two shots and hes gone, and he wont be able to get 2 extra life a turn because hes parlyzed.
Ooze can be stopped easily with dragons scout frost, mud, pyro, witch, etc. Even a furgon can stop him. furgon can run up and put shrubs around ooze, and becuase OOZE CAN'T TELEPORT he is and easy kill for enemy scouts. It would be hard to stop Ooze with just knights and assassins. So with this unit even greys can kill.
If Ancient ooze is already controls a unit, another Ooze can't gain control it as well.
-=Now if i take control of a friendly knight and try to run into enemy territory and kill the cleric, but and ooze is gaurding the cleric, then my knight is completely safe from the enemy ooze. SO my knight is free to hit the ooze or cleric, without worring about being taken over. =-
Many good strategies come from this unit. Such as a powerful enemy dragon shot your knight reducing him down to 10 life. you can take this weak knight as a host, and run it up to the dragon while it recovers. On your next turn you kill your own knight leaving the ooze in his place without a host. SUPPOSING that you ooze has full life he should barly survive any shot from and enemy unit. On your next turn you gain control of the dragon. now when this dragon dies later on. Ooze will be left in his place just as weak as he was before he took the dragon. so he probably will die, unless he can find another host quickly.
Ooze can't take control of wards
If ooze controls assassin, and THAT assassin does the assassin bomb or assassin bomb is done on a host of his, ooze still dies.
Ancient ooze can gain control of parlyzed guys. but he is parlyzed also after ward, but for example frost golem stops parlyzing that guy, you now control it like normal.
Any suggestions on making this unit made, or making it better would be appreciated.

It sounds a bit over overpowered, by what it can do, as in taking control of 1 of your enemies units, and being able to heal every turn.
You did a good job explaining though.

i must not have explained it well enough, or ya can't read, Ooze gets the 2 life every turn when he is by himself. When he has someone has a host he is EXACTLY the same, he doesn't get 2 life. -=SO if i take over and enemy knight, he gets no extra life every turn, but he does get healed from my cleric not the orginal owners.=- he has to wait before switching so you will have a shot to kill him before he takes control of enemy knight, and when the knight dies, youll have another shot before he controls a different unit. which should kill him unless you have alot of strategy. IN the dragon and knight example, if i killed my own knight that was carring ooze, ooze would left right next to the dragon. so you would get a shot at it with one of you guys. Then i control dragon, when dragon dies, and ooze is left in his place, ooze is the same life as he had before he controled the dragon, (which should be weak becuase you shot him before he entered. ) Then his 2 life every turn would start again, but another shot would kill him from any unit.

I like the concept. It's very strategic because you can basically give other friendly units an extra turn to move out of the way, and also do the same to enemy units. I'll go more in-depth on my thoughts tomorrow if I can think of something that wouldn't make this unit work. Nice explanations though, I really like the effort. Just thought I should leave this so you don't get too discourage with other's thoughts. It's really a nice idea, but may need some modifications. Rep.

I don't feel like reading a ton during summer, plus if I can't read than I wouldn't of known about the taking control part, nor the healing.
Now, I do believe I complimented how you explained the stuff, did I not?

Parasites are bad enough outside of TAO. I don't feel interested in the idea of them being added to the game. Mind control is ... too weird.
Is the HP added 2hp or 2/2hp?
Considering the large explanation, it's also possible its too complex, but I don't know as I don't care to read it. Sorry.

I actually like it, I read these all the time and are like "blah blah blah" this one sounds neat and strategic like, I loved the explanation, it cleared things up for me, though it does seem complex. >_< I give it like 8 out of 10. :cool:

Magic the gathering card, and my unit have nothing in common except the name. they do nothing the same. i decided to make and ooze unit way before i read that card, but i liked the name. Dont give me critisim for my unit if you didn't even read the whole thing. And again it may have tweeks, but we could still change those. Im sure this unit would have some rules against it just like Dragon speaker mage, and golem ambusher.

I used to play magic back in the day. I had a speed fire deck that killed in like 3 to 6 turns. Black Lotus, moxes, multi lands, forks, lightning bolts and fireballs baby! Anywho, it sounds interesting dude but I would give anything to see Miths unit in the game.

OMG.... I played like 13 years ago when the game first came out and you were hopping out of diapers bamma boy. Everyone knows the rules have changed umpteen billion times since the game was created. And at the time 40 card speed decks were rampant. People used cards like fastbond and dropped all their manna, and had a full setup goin in two to three turns. Not to mention the Black Lotus and Mox cards that were almost ludicrous in how fast they helped a deck develop. You could even have 4 forks in a deck! Those were the unrestricted days. Have you even seen an Alpha or Beta edition Magic card? Now that I think about it my deck would probably be worth $1000 or more today. Anywho, don't speak up until you read up youngin.

I'ma explain why this is such a bad unit.
First and formost, there should never be a situation where you can move your opponents units. EVER. The entire tactical setup of this game is based around the fact that you are in control of your own units at all times.
2) This instantly kills one of your opponents characters in one hit, and can be reused. Lets say you ooze an opponent knight. Then what? Can that knight *ever* be recovered? Not really. He's recruited to the other side, and pretty much dead to the original user.
3) Unballanced teams: taking away 1 (or 2, for dragon) units away from your opponent while not losing any yourself sets up for instant unballance.
4) Turning opponent units against each other. Here's how it works: Put unit on wisp, teleport far behind enemy lines where they are clumped together, let wisp die, grab incredibly advantageous opponent unit to kill of their cleric and everyone else.
5) You made 3 spam threads about this unit in General Discussion.
In conclusion, this is a horrible unit that would only produce imballance in the game. Thanks for playing. Please don't make threads in General Discussion again.
p.s. - based on his avatar, ooze might refer to the old school ninja turtle ooze which made them ninja turtles in the first place.
p.p.s - you can rearange the letters in "turtles" to form the word "slutter"

Once again unqi thanks for all your harsh critism. you complain about losing a unit, its not like your opponent can't have an ooze too, and once again the can easily be stopped. In your example hes found and friendly wisp for a host. when hes in my territory. i can easily kill it with frost, berserker, wisp. etc and i wouldn't have to worry about it taking a new host, and once you killed its host it would be even easier to stop. 2 hits at full life (full life is going to be rare if you already in enemy territory) so one hit normal, you forget that he has to wait, AND once again he has some tweaks it can easily be made that he waits 3 recovery instead of 2 etc.

Units that require the enemy to have the same unit are overpowered.

your opponent doesn't have to have another ooze to beat ya. just like a Dragonspeaker mage, very powerful can kill alof of guys, but can die easy. the point is maybe they can take one unit the entire game. if there lucky to make ooze survive that long. Basicaly every unit can take down and ooze quickly. But if you have another ooze its not like you can't take one of his guys. These aren't game changing steals or anything, you can basicly stop ooze at any time. -=frost golem is best for if ooze already has a host=-
ps. this wasn't intended to be a panzy unit. that no one uses like berserker. (i like berserker but no good gold uses it) this was intended to be a very used unit, and bring strategy and fun to the game, i didn't know people would be so upset with it.

Erm, no. You're requiring the opponent to have a frosty, as it's really the only way to beat this thing. That's just dumb. That should never be the case. You use furgy on muddie as your counterexample, but here's the thing: even without a mud golem, you can still easily kill a furgon. Without a frosty on the field, this thing is near invincible. In a front line rush, it could take any number of units on first turn. As soon as ooze has an opponent unit, it's like an instant kill. This is bad in every possible way.
And as Kyir said, forcing the opponent to have this unit also to make the game mildly fair reaks of unfairness and an unballanced unit in the first place.

i already got the point that you dont like it unqi, again it can have flaws, i dont care even if it was changed so much as Poisonus ooze, and it was a like a stronger wisp or something. i think its a good unit for the game. And if people felt it that unfair to take over dragons there can be rules that make it so they dont. and just like Dsm and Ga im sure ooze would have rules too. no ooze on frontline.
i think its a good unit for the game.
No one else thinks that though, so drop it.

i have seen ancient ooze make so much mistakes in this conversation, i can barely understand some sentences and i have see words like alof in this here conversation it's called a edit" button btw. But anyway i dont like this thing at all just like most people its way to overpowered if say you use an ooze in an opposite side turt against someone using a frosty the ooze would basically be free to attack any units that come to you, the oerson using the ooze would have to do the oofense or the game will completeky be unfair.
