This is my set up. I'm too lazy to post pictures so just deal with the bizarre ascii map for now. My only complaint is playing against 1000+ golds. So far it's been pretty fun. I play on Banff. It just requires me to pay attention as it's easy to make mistakes. Anyone see any weaknesses or improvements? It's a pretty weird set up and most ppl mention something about how they've never seen nething like it. Right now i'm 1100, but I've gotten to 1000+ on Great lakes using the default set up playing mostly 800 ppl with an occaisonal 1000+ person, but i usually win cuz they play terribly. In fact, I think I have a high loss ratio to 850~ ppl then 1000-1200 ppl. I think a big part of this setup's success is that people underestimate it and charge in only to get burned by pyros and swamped with knights. Sometimes I face turtlers in which case I attack from the sides and end up exchanging units, which is still to my favor, as I have more fighting/moving units.

xx D C xxx
xxx P E P S xx
xxx A K K K xxxx

D = dark magic witch
C = cleric
P = pyro
E = enchantress
S = scout
A = assassin
K = knight

Sorry, I don't know how to paste in screenshots, and attachments are prohibited. If you could, just log on to TAO and set it up with ur own characters to get a visual feel for the units. IF anyone could tell me how to include s/s that'd be nice. Also, why don't you help me instead of all echoing the same thing.

Use the print screen button on your unit setup, open it, copy it, then paste in the thread.

No....

First one must use an image hosting service such as imageshack or Photobucket.

Pils, was posting necessary if you weren't going to help? ... Just ignore if you don't have anything good to say.

As for your set, it is funky. I would say spread it out more, and perhaps put some units in the front row to avoid a witch/pyro coming down and shagging you.

It is funky but I've gotten to 1147 in one day on a new acct in legends. I played against several 1200+ players and won narrowly. My two most recent games that come to mind are against two 1200+ players w/ two frost golems and muddies. One player used two clerics, and I beat him. The other player used one cleric and had a dark magic witch instead. I drew with him. Very intense battles. In the first battle, he managed to paralyze my scout, barrier ward himself and my knight. So I ended up drawing his lightning ward with a knight and his scout with a mage, then I paralyzed BOTH his frost golems, and barrier warded. Eventually, I barely won after he made a mistake of not moving his scout, which i took down, letting me paralyze the rest of his units and move my own paralyzed knights to win. In the last game, I had a long drawn out battle slowly taking down his units, starting with a knight and eventually his golems until it ended with me having a knight at 33 on one of the screen and him having a scout with 12 and a knight with 12, ending in a draw.

Wow that was a long rant. Anyways, does anyone have any unit suggestions? I'm open to any drops available on the legends server.

For the record, get the set on your screen. Then press the "PrtSc Sys Peq" Button, yes, press it. Then bring up your Paint program, and use the options in the bar at the top to paste the picture. After that, save it and know where it is. Then head to www.imageshack.us, and click Browse. Find the picture on your computer, and then click it. Finally, click "Host It!", and after a few seconds several new destinations for your picture on the internet will be available.

I think it's your skill that's won you those games. Or the other people just get frustrated. I hate playing sets like that.

Reminds me of AU's set.
But AU's is better for one key reason... He has his knights spread out a bit, and up front. Look at your BW position.
If you come across someone with a center that has a witch/pyro that are capable of getting up front somewhat quickly/bw'd then you are screwed.
Even if you manage to keep your cleric alive you will be forced in a defensive position that isn't exactly ideal for playing a good defense.
I would advise putting those knights up a bit, and rearrange the units in more of a defensive position. Because a good player will easily use a scout and magic to take a very easy and early unit advantage on that set.

Moving my knights forward tho causes all kinds of LOS problems with my barrier ward and cleric. I'm testing out the new set where i move my clerics up right now.

What does anyone think about adding in a muddie?

Also, most people with centers have lightning wards near the center and that just bashes my knight. If anyone can post a recommended improvement with screenshot that'd be awesome. Also, this set really abuses the assassin bomb and enchantress.

The edit button is golden....
#1 most center based sets have some LOS holes... You are going to have to deal with that possibility, and utilize to your full advantage what a set like that can offer, and cope with its disadvantages. If the disadvantages outweigh the advantages you may want to reconsider your form...

#2 drops are for noobs. And so is legends. no further comments....

#3 Knights can take a beating, I wouldn't worry much.

In my opinion, worrying about los in grey..I dunno about at Legends (with all the various drops) is not a key concern. Also, no matter where you move your enchantress, she paralyzes one of your own units. Lastly, since most greys use a dmw, if they can keep you distracted long enough she can do some serious damage to a set lined up perfectly like that. Knights have to be positioned differently to support your set better.

ur right, wherever I go, my chanty paralyzes my units, but what often happens is late in the game, there's no scout and by paralyzing my own units i provide a barrier to melee units and I can just bash their stuff.

DMW attacks are rarely an issue. If anyone even tries to charge with a DMW, I can easily block with a knight and kill it w/o sustaining any casualties. I have never had problems with a DMW. Frosties on the other hand.... are a different story

Seeing as you play legends, settup according to what legends has to offer (if drops are your cup o' tea) and settup to defend against legends...
We aren't the crowd to help you with that though, try legends forums.
