On that set you see above you probably recognize from our friend Imag. I find it to be highly effective when used as a rush. Here's a warning though, playing defensively with this set will get you slaughtered. I would recommend watchign some of imag's videos on youtube to see how it's best utilized. I'm still a bit new to the set myself, but on GL I think I'm currently undefeated using it, with the exception of my fellow clan member Mephistoles.
Here's the grey.

I think that grey is pretty good, it has gotten me to 1100 before on Jamesthebang in Banff. If you learn to use it right it's pretty unstoppable. I think that any grey that uses it should be set well on there way. It's good to stop those who use the default set or same side turt. Write down what you think of it. These are just sets I thought you'd might like...

The first one (yes I do recognize it from Imag), in my opinion, is a great offensive variation of an Anti-Rush. I used one very similar to it, and it works wonders if you can attack and sacrifice to get yourself ahead. Because in the end, you have a lot of lasting power. The fact that it isn't totally open, but can attack just as a rush can gives it a huge edge and limits its instant-weaknesses. I like it.
I believe the grey form is a bit too laid back. I can see many melee attacks getting you down, and if a few mages add to the havoc, you are in trouble because of the bunches units deep in your base. I'm not sure why you would want an Assassin in there instead of a third Knight; it would be one thing if the Assassin was tucked away so you could set up an Assassin-Bomb, but because it's in the open that can be prevented by your opponent. I think you need a better wall up front, as you will need a strong scrimmage line in same-side matches. On opposite sides, I can see the form working, but I can also see it being flanked if not used correctly.
Overall, I found both formations to be very interesting.

2 knights in a grey form = pwned. I'd tear that apart.

Oh I never thought about that. I have been murdered from a flank a few times. How about I take out the barrier ward. Keep the Pie Romancer, and add a knight and move the sassy back a bit. Oh and imag's set is really awesome, I'm glad he lets me use it.

lol, well you and steve are veteran players. But I think the average grey would do well with that set plus the modifications I mentioned above. I wanted the barrier ward because sometimes greys with the same side turt try to take out the LW and it's usually the center balance and wihtout it can pwn a grey to death
My unbiased opinion is that the grey set sucks. I don't know much about the gold, but it doesn't look that great. Looks like someone would easily throw a knight and some back up and kill your frost and cleric quick.
For the grey, there are a large number of flaws.
#1 3 knights is a must. I would advise you to take out the assassin or pyro, even though there are some other options I don't feel like picking up on right now.
#2 A same side would tear it apart, basically just easily rushing in and tearing you to shreds because of your lack of knights and relatively poor positioning.
#3 Opp, you would probably get flanked because judging by your set alone you probably couldn't defend all that well and eventually they would get at your cleric and chanty, which would both be kind of trapped because of that BW position. Lots of people use that BW position, and the only benefit that comes of it, is if a scout wanted to take a shot at it he would be in LW range. But that doesn't outweigh the set backs it has of getting in the way when you wanna retreat your cleric.

Here is a revised grey edition. Check this out. This one can get any grey to 1200 with ability.

Eh. Perhaps you should talk to imag. That set will get anyone with gold experience very far. He happens to be a netjak leader. That gold set, if you use it and tweak it right is just about unbeatable. Just saying
Most sets with 10 units, and in some cases 9 or 8, could get a person to 1200 with enough skill/ability.
That center is a bit better, but I could still see a corner on the bottom left getting a pretty easy flank. Try moving all the knights up one space. Then put that outside knight on the other side of the form. I would probably move the magic up just a tad, so that it can be a threat, but still be safe.
Meh like I said, I don't know to much about gold, so I'm not in a position to talk about it, I just made some observations.

Personally i think that the gold set would be pwned easily by my non dsm frontal rush. but on the other hand the grey is kind of like the one i use. and it seems to work fairly well for me.

That set of mine isnt great actually. There are other sets i am much more proud of. As for the grey sets youve posted, they really arent anything special. The second is the better of the 2 but still would be at a disadvantage to most other sets right off the bat.

Well, the 1st grey has quite a few problems. Mainly the fact of 2 knights, but as Puni also mentioned, The BW has a crappy placement, cause it blocks off the cleric/chanty escaping. The 2nd grey Should push all the knights up one square, and move the witch up to be 2 squares right of the scout. As for the gold, i dont have a gold, so i have no idea how good it is.
