So yea, gonna take that big jump in life.
In short, im mainly curious , to those among you who have tied the knot:
Do you have any good resources online with information that might be useful? Warnings on things to look out for regarding consultants and catering, or anything else of the sort.

Congratulations sayter!
After all our TAO talks, I never expected you to get married anytime soon, you always seemed to bizarre to do the norm. But I'm happy that you have found the right guy to do it with. (put as much meaning in that as you wish.)
But as for information, I have none for you, so Good luck.

heh thanks. And yea, Bax, its not a "normal" wedding though :) Doing a nice alternative gothic (victorian/renassance) service :)
no religion to be seen at it, seeing as the groom and I are both quite non-religious. The hypocracy (and boredom) would be unfitting. Rather, a nice gothic rented hall with victorian era clothes and baroque and opera as the main music choices....blacks and burgundies instead of whites, all that jazz.

Haha,
That wedding sounds like fun. I suggest you add some "Dimmu Borgir" into your music selections, mainly to get the party started!
Have a great one!

My condolences.
...
Oh, yeah.
My advice? You're taking the leap, tread cautiously and try not to fall on your ass.
Also, weddings are overrated. Don't spend tens of thousands of dollars on something you'll be paying for the rest of your life (even if only literally). :p

First... CONGRATULATIONS!!:D:D:D
now... remember that marriage is a commitment, not just a "thing" you try and drop when it stops "working out".

Very true.
The husband, on the other hand, is just a thing you try, and drop when it stops working out. :wink2:

Congrats Sayter! :D
If you're doing the whole gothic wedding type thing then are you still wearing a white dress with something added, or are you going for black?
I love weddings, you have to take pictures!

no chance in hell I will wear a white dress. Eew. Black w/ Burgundy FTW.
Not sure exactly on style yet. Will definitely be watching a lot of 17th to 19th century movie settings, etc over the next while (with obvious nods to Dracula, Interview, etc)
And whoever it was that asked if I was a lesbian, no. I swing both ways. Not that it matters either way, as sexual preference is irrelevant :)

Black and burgundy is a good mix! :)
If you want a gothic setting, look for an abandoned cathedral. That way you could get married without having to go through a christian ceremony. I'm sure there's one nearby if you looked for it.

I don't know you, and I haven't read this thread.. just the first post, but I'm going to give you some advice.. make damn sure you know the real whatever his name is. Make sure this is what you both really, really want.. and make sure you take things slow.. don't rush to buy a house and start a family.
Good luck and I hope your married experience is a hell of a lot better than mine was. : D
