View Full Version : A New Form

Ok, this form may look odd, but give it a chance. I'm saying this because I already know that people like Geoff are going to instantly run in here saying "Well my off center form, which I got to 1400 with BTW, would TOTALLY rape that, then I'd Scout, BW, blah blah blah..." give the form a chance, ok?
So, here it is:

A few wins to verify, it is a usable set:
A gold jumped me:
http://img466.imageshack.us/img466/8354/gj209vd1.jpg
Full out rush, 4 DMW, Mudd, BR... proving the cleric/chanty protection works
http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/1206/4dmwmuddbrrushwinvr6.jpg
BR + Scout were dead... guess he didn't want to continue
http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/6555/rushwin2ut8.jpg
I use a weird strategy with it, I like to rush, but use the LW so if while I'm rushing my opponent sneaks through, the one space backwards LW gives extra protection...

Not a bad set up for a gray. what server do you play on?

It's dropless, so I just kind of move around

Eh.. well both of those gold didn't look like they knew what they were doing. The set does look pretty versatile to me, though.

Yeah, it's not the strongest form by any means, but I like it a lot because it's so versatile, I'd been using a fair amount of wardless' as of late, but I wanted a little something to defend better when my opponent sneaks through a knight, as I already said. The answer, was a LW, but I wanted it for protection, so I droped it back one.
It also gives my opponent a false sense of me being a noob :D

Na It's kinda stupid you gotta have a Bw in your grey set...

A. I don't use an off centre set.
B. A standard centre would rape that set.
C. A Off-Centre set would rape that.
I see no point in using a grey set with no BW.
EDIT: Why would I give a set a chance if I don't like it? Duh.

I tend to either use no wards, or both wards. The only reason not to use wards is flexability, so in only adding one you aren't maximizing the potential.
If you use a LW, but no BW, your mages cant easily take the offensive. If you were to put in a pyro instead, it's more flexable and you can protect you mages by causing "prong" choices.
You pinned down one of your Knights to your cleric.
I'd suggest switching it with the LW, but what do I know?

No offense man, but none of those opponents really had any skill. The only person that might have was the 1100 grey with the BR rush, but even then his stats aren't that high, especially for Legends.
The set itself...I see a lot of flaws in it that either of my corner forms would take advantage of. My center form would flank it pretty decent as well, but I rarely use that form anymore.

Um the point is that you should probably mix it up a bit and see what u can do. u guys would probably hate my set as well its a center, not much rush im more of the defensive kind.

Geoff, you're good, but you can be a real fool sometimes.
1. I most def remember a thread in which you stated how you had gotten to 1400+ with a 3 from the wall LW set, wish I could find the post, but can't remember where it is.
2./3. Geoff, you have never even seen how this set plays out, stop making assumptions based on what you automatically think, because you're such the great pwnz0r.
@The edit: Are you serious? You don't like a kid, doesn't mean you can't give him a chance. You don't like green beens, doesn't mean you can't give it a chance. I never said you had to like it, I just said give it a chance.
Moral of the story, get over yourself.

Not necessarily with the way I like to play it. Instead, I like to knight rush, and use mage as de-focus/mass clean up/support that follows after the knight rush. If I play it right that is, then I don't need to worry about my Mages dieing so fast.

First part: None taken, I wasn't trying to brag or show any thing big, I simply wanted to show that this set is obviously usable, which I think I did.
Second part: Eh, saying flanking this form is a lot easier said then done. In the fair amount of games I've played with this, I've faced a fair amount of decent turts (just ordinary wins, didn't post any) and most people tried flanking, none where successful. And that was if they were able to get off the flank before I flanked them.

You are an idiot. You wanted people to make assumptions by making this thread. I have used a LW 3 from the wall set, that is not really off centre. You need to realise if you post sets here this is what will happen
steve12

He did realize that from the beginning. I can't say the set is all that unique, but as I said, I think a good player could use it well. Apparantly, he thought it was quite unique.

What the heck are you talking about?
How did I want people to make assumptions? I wanted people to see my form, perhaps give their thoughts, or comments. I actually even did the opposite, I asked for comments without the basic immediate assumption that it sucks.
How is 3 from wall not off center? Corners, and center is considered centered, that is off it, so it is off center. Sorry if my interpretation is SO much different from yours.
No, just because you post something in general strategy doesn't mean that assumptions will automatically be made of it. In fact, if that's what you always do, just immediately make an assumption that something is either good or bad, then that may explain quite a bit.

it would be easy to flank with an off centered set, but any decend players could definatly use that set to good use

Lmao, ROLF. If you want to be correct any set which doesn't have an LW in the centre is off-centre.
I am posting my opinions on your set, you wanted comments. I made them. You just can't hack them.

On a more serious note - don't really know how you would play with it, so just play me when you see me. I will then comment. :)

Tacto I do not have alot to learn. It is not MY own style not using wards, other people may not use. But I will always.
