Un-Natural Disaster
A Short Story by S3RO
It
was a cold and stormy night. The kind that chills to the bone. I could hear planes crash around me in the distance. It looked as though the sky and the land were on fire, an apocalypse perhaps. Tv broadcasters had been talking about it all month. The "possibility" of a new cold war, fought with new weather inducers, that could instantly change weather to blizzards, thunderstorms, hurricanes, and worse.
At first the technology was created by the government to help fight the increasing level of global hurricane disasters. Soon afterward the information on the weather inducers became public. At that point military's around the world simultaneously put it to use in combat, with devastating effects. It has been one week to the day that it was put to use in a new reborn cold war, this time between every major country. Mutually assured destruction was no longer a factor, as the weather inducers could create conditions to stop liftoff of a ballistic missile.
I was perhaps one of the few survivors, finding my way into the wilderness of civilization. Ironic, as where I am now walking was once the great city of Los Angeles, and to think just a few days ago I was drinking a warm cup of coffee at the local coffee shop, now its a struggle to find even a decent shelter. But soon it wouldn't matter, if I can only make it 50 miles east, to the U.S underground shelter, built to protect citizens from nuclear bombs during the Cold War, and now used to protect everyone from the violent hurricanes and super-tornadoes caused by opposing enemies.
"Hey bud, where you walking too?".
"Whh...at... how did.... err.. you doing here?"
"OMG? You Dont know who I am? IM S3RO the most ballsy magnificent son of a *&$^, and Im here to save you dumb&^$#. "
"Holly *&^$, it is you, damn Im lucky", IM SAVED!!!!!!!!."
The End
