Normal people have brains, what he has in his head is just a bunch of empty space. Every once in a while though im guessing a flash goes on in this vast box of emtpyness and when that happens we see him say something like "Fuck you Bitch" which is the closest he can come to relating to other human beings. I dont think there is a classification in science as to what we call this kind of idiocy, because at least people with turrets can make a point until the urge to cuss hits them.

I'd just like to point out that ignore lists are only useful if you're trying to glean something meaningful out of your experience n the twisted social experiement known as TAO Forums. Otherwise they just detract from the entertainment value.

I find this thread humorously ironic, for mildly unrelated reasons.

And as to the thread question, probably without surprise, I blame the economy.

I don't really know who he is, but if he doesn't post here then you get pwned cause that's the best way to make this thread look dumb. It'll just die down and fall to the last few pages in a day or two if he doesn't come here and stir everything up.

and if he does, let's hope he's got some good jokes lined up

Only if you count the train ride from there to Stuttgart. There's so much for me to see in Europe when I visit that the rest of the nation isn't a really high priority (yet) on my to-do list.

Very understandable. I'd actually advise agains it. You only experience the Dutch culture, or at least the part I know, by interacting with Dutch people, not necessarily by going places.

Amsterdam gives a good sense of our liberal side, I guess. It's just, like all tourist locations, very commercialised(is that a word?). However, if you do ever get the chance to go to Groningen (up North where I live), I'd definitely make a quick stop. You'll be able to truely experience the student culture in the Netherlands.

Loads of fun. We have a really cool rule that our bars do not have forced closing times. They're able to decide for themselves. Warcow might be able to tell you a little about this.

Drinking as much as I please.

I hated the few places that served around my campus, because they had 3 drink maximum's (and my folks told me of the days of 3 drink minimums, some thing don't progress well in my mind). Really stinks to be forced to stop at a place.

Yeah, you usually have to get a permit to be allowed to be open till a certain time. We don't do that.

You could seriously test your drinking habits around these parts.

That's messed up, though I suppose no worse than "dry town" city laws, or curfew times for other places.

And I have trouble believe any area will test my drinking habits beyond the German's extent. Any American who's spent some time there knows what I mean, an entire nation of raving alcoholics. Fun place.

Don't get me wrong, just about everywhere (except Utah) has some good drinking social works. But some places reach almost legendary status, in the world as a whole, in this regard.

I'm not talking 11 pm here, of course. We'll always be liberal! But the fundamental difference of having or not having a closing time will always be a reason why I love my city. Plus of course the fact that literally 45% of the people are students. For Dutch standards (who don't really know the idea of a campus), that's a whole lot.

I agree, I'm not going to compete against some places in Germany. Nobody should ever consider, except for maybe the Irish, competing with the Germans.

However, and I do not mean to disrespect your drinking abilities, I would be thoroughly suprised if an American could hang with the Dutch students. I'm not going to pretend I'm the heaviest drinker around, but I'd put my money on the typical "Vindicat" students any time of the week.

Sorry Jeff, gotta agree with the Europe kids on this one.

Agreed that typical american drinkers, especially student aged ones, have no clue what tolerance or moderation is compared to most other countries I've been in. They blast themselves to hell on a 12 pack of some sort of US draft light beer in 2 hours, and call it a "night of drinking."

Note the keyword typical, of course. And I can compare the students, because that's basically where I goto and hang with when I travel. I'm not much of a tourist, when it comes to agenda.

All I have to say is I don't measure drinks :) I measure rounds with my ol' masskrugs. None of that light beer stuff too, I like that tastes decent. I can be pretty open minded about what people have beyond that, though.
