Recently quite a few players have been spamming the chat rooms relentlessly, lagging up everything, and just plain out making it impossible to chat. Please make a fix for this. The sad part is that most of the time it is a gold member.

simple filter, if the same thing is posted by a person 3 times in a row within 1 minute then its probably spam, they should be booted from the lobby, this wouldnt have an in game effect (well okay, there could be in game spammers, so maybe make it in game to? i mean if ur whole goal in life is to bug the crap outta the other player do u really care about ur record and if u get another loss?) *shrugs* thats just my idea

"no" "no" "NO!" "what part of no dont u understand?" "then go back to skool and stop bugging me!" "*pulls out shotgun*" "yeah, thats what i thought..." ;)

We've taken steps to limit gray chat to 8 seconds between messages but stopping spam in a chat lobby is very hard...

hmm, i like the idea of booting someone who says the same thing 3 times in one minute. i find the current system of only saying something every 8 seconds to be fairly annoying, since it seems to stop me from saying something for just long enough so that when i do say it, it has nothing to do with whats currently being said lol.

;) simple /ignore command would work it out for me

OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS GAME HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SO LONG WITHOT AN /IGNORE FUNCTION.

Honestly, i dont pretend to know a whole lot about programming, but is it THAT hard?

Thanks for the /chatfilter command, thanks for limiting greys to 1 msg every 8 seconds. These are useless against Gold accounts, and presently, someone has stolen Baphometical's account and is spamming relentlessly, and has been for the last half hour making chat in the lobby impossible. Impossible to even arrange a match with someone else. Impossible for any sort of chat to happen at all

Honestly, is there any opposition to the /ignore suggestion? Is there any reason it cannot be done? is there any other game that you guys can think of that has been up and running for half a year and still doesnt' have any sort of squelching function???????

but some people have to type like 3 dots after time after time in a match to see what their opponent says.

Actually, it's pretty damn hard to create a game like this in Flash, let alone programming, connecting to servers, creating new functions, ect.
I don't really think you realize how much time and effort goes into making things like this.

As for the /chatfilter command, all the more a reason to become a gold.... :D

perhaps i am underestimating the difficulty of the programming here. But still, could a /ignore function be that much harder than implemented in the swear filter they have? or is it that much harder than the clan features? I'm not trying to belittle the work that they have already done, but is seems like they could have just as easily done an /ignore feature as well.

Perhaps i'm just frustrated because it seems like they're not doing anythign right now.

The real difference would be between global and use specific command files.
A global command like a filter applies to everyone playing the game. The /chatfilter simply triggers the grey colored chat to not be seen.
The /ignore would have to be user specific, and take A LOT more CPU power. If 50 people all decided to /ignore jeffery then the computer would be running 50 processes against my name everytime I talked.

BTW, I still think /ignore would be a great command :)

i suppose they can't make it so that each individual's copmuter is responsible for the /ignore command? So my computer would simply filter out any messages from a certain person?..... i'm guessing i'm going to get a reply saying that flash doesn't work that way... :(

What is with people typing the "."s I dont get it. How does this assist you in seeing what your opponent typed. Press F11 or change the resolution on your comp.

Because they're too lazy to hit the F11 key.. I mean, it's so much easier to constanty type "."
