I've never played CoD4, although I hear it's good since all of my neighbors in college play it. I love Halo 3 and Guitar Hero franchise. They are my top two favorite game franchises.

cod4 is amazing. It gets my vote. The only thing bad about it is how short single player is. But the fact that you can turn up the difficulty to the point where its impossible to beat(for me at least) makes up for that a bit. The multiplayer is amazing and gives the game endless replay value.

Guitar Hero 3 is an okay game. But the first two in the series plain rock. So Even though guitar Hero 3 wasn't all that, it gets my vote.

Halo 1,2 and 3 are probably the only first person shooter games I've ever played for more then 30 minutes. I just dislike FPS games, Halo was different for me. . but I've never exactly been sure why.

I've never played any Call of Duty games.

Oh and by the way, all FPS games that have anything to do with WW2 need to roll over and die. Seriously. The first 3 times were fine, but I started getting annoyed after the 100,000th game about WW2 was made.

Halo 1 is such a personal game. you just sit down and play it with 3 other friends and you have fun and laughs for hours.
Halo 2 and 3 are more of just online games. Halo 3 went psycho with everything hahaha but they need more maps. Halo 2 vista has 23 maps is it? around there. Besides games like CSS with custom maps, I don't think I've ever seen a game with more than 15 maps made for the game.
the thing is, Your surroundings while playing halo are surreal. The background noises(ambience), the intense layouts of every map, and how there's a random announcer, etc. they were original. halo 1 was like, impossible to beat when it was released. I love futuristic games too. I hate the battlefields series, strongly dislike CSS and every other steam game, and the only historic FPS I enjoy is Medal of honor.
Now for TPS - Socom 2 and gears of war hahahaaa

Not a fan of shoot-'em-ups. For as long as I can remember, platform games and turn-based strategy/RPGs have been my weapon of choice. They require a lot of strategy, tact, and forethought, the character development is nice, there's almost always a story I can get into... Yeah.

Shoot-'em-ups have none of that. Okay, there's some skill required in player vs. player, but once you get to a certain stage in the game it all basically boils down to how well you can pick off the really weak players without using any of this skill.

I mean, sure, the first two Halos caught my attention for awhile, but after that it just became a game that I pick up once in awhile when friends are over (or I'm over there), and since all my video game-playing friends have shipped off to the mainlands, that means all my Halo games collect dust. I literally played Halo 3 single-player once before I realized it was basically the same game with a story progression that wasn't really all that interesting to me, flicked it off... And picked up Guitar Hero III.

Compared to their predecessors, Guitar Hero III/Halo 3 are both lacking. They're still great games, of course, but when you find yourself going back to the previous installments after just a month or two of ownership of the latest in the trend, you know they've failed to recapture the magic of the glory days of the series (or just capture in Activision's case, as Harmonix took sailed with Rock Band and let its old Guitar Hero flagship run aground). That said, I still play Guitar Hero III when I get tired of four-starring Six on Guitar Hero II (last song for Geetar God, and I hate it so), whereas Halo III just seems like a $60 coaster as of late.

As for Call of Duty 4... I never bought that game (brother has a pirated version for PC), and I'm kinda glad I did. I played it on XBox Live for awhile and found myself constantly spawning in the middle of a fight and engaging in fruitless skirmishes with level 8s who either two-shot me with assault weapons from across the stage, or kill me with a grenade thrown randomly over some massive obstacle (seriously, the ship stage? I'd watch the replay of my death from the killer's perspective, half the time it was someone aiming at the sky and randomly letting his magic exploding pebbles soar).

This I could live with if the single-player was to my liking, but sadly the only options they seemed to have for difficulties were "too f***ing hard" and "not f***ing hard enough", and I'd either find myself molesting entire armies with a pocket knife or being shot at by enemies at a stage in the game I've yet to reach. After I finally got myself a sniper rifle and decided to have some fun, I noticed that, even in zoom, the target point of the sniper is constantly moving with the breathing. How freaking useless is that? Turns out you have to press and hold a button just to keep the target point from moving around, and even then THAT lasts for only three seconds before he runs out of breath and everything goes askew. Not that it matters, the guy I aim at seems to find me way out on the horizon in the tall grass with my camouflage every single freakin' time and I get killed off like so many before me before I can get a shot off, good or bad. Needless to say, I put this one to bed.

Where's Rock Band on this list, by the way? That had to be the only extremely hyped game of 2007 I played that didn't disappoint when it came to the gameplay aspects... Though the guitar peripheral sucked, HMX is really cool about their return policy, and I'm expecting a new, unbroken one within the week.

Just because you suck at CoD4 doesn't mean you should knock it. It's a great game once you develop a basic strategy for the online play.

The graphics are incredible! The weaponry and the thought put into this game is brilliant.
Haven't beaten it on Veteran yet,those damn German Shepherds get me every time. :D

I play on my pc, you have to keep your thumb close to the letter "G" to throw them back. God knows I've missed a million of them. :P
I don't know the procedure on ps2 or ps3 for returning those gifts. :D

I know this is old, but I just wanted to let the community know that my faith in it has been restored. Nobody voted that shurt is the best in the world.

each game has its pros and cons

COD4 is definately the best single player FPS of the two but if you have friends over you cant go online and are simply stuck to palying vrs each other (which can get old because you should own them if you own the game). COD4 is also alot harder to become good at than halo because of the learning curve. It is a much more realistic game.

Halo 3 is a fun game to play with tons of people. The maps are 100x easier to learn and getting around is alot easier since you have a 7' vertical. While COD4 has perks halo 3 has power ups that respawn, just a matter of choice. I find that after playing COD4 I simply dominate at halo (after i get used to the buttons again) because finding and shooting people is much much easier.

I personally have never liked any of the GH games or anyhting like them. I dont find them entertaining because all it is is pushing buttons as they come up. PLus, while i have the rhythm basically perfect i find myself pushing the wrong button and therefor missing the note. not my style of game.

I vote COD4 simply because I play it alot more than halo... it is harder and actually requires a bit of strategy.
