Bad Ad's

It's come to our attention that as of recently, some of the TAO ad's have digressed back into inappropriateness for the site after a long period of having rather clean advertisements. First of all, we would like to apologize for this.

Secondly, the only way for us to fix this is for us to actually see the ads. Some people, like myself, have adblock always turned on, so it is impossible for me to determine which ones need to be filtered. Also, keep in mind that the ads you see are determined by the region that you live in, so there may be multiple inappropriate ads that all can see, or some that only a specific region will see.

If you see any ad that could be considered inappropriate, please post a screenshot of it here, I will check the thread daily. Please use your good judgement when dictating which ads should be reported, we're depending on you to help us be rid of the ones we do not need.

I'd actually advocate that we all get adblock, before I'd advocate for getting rid of ads. Less work for everyone. Plus, I dont really moderate ads... I moderate people. Ads are up to serg. I'm kind of doing him a favor by doing this for the community. But you knew that.

I actually think he has a point meat. When I saw this thread the first time, I disabled my adblock and loaded a bunch of forum pages to see what I got. I saw nothing inappropriate and so I turned adblock back on. I think he meant you could do that and at least have a look-see for yourself.

For being the person who initially brought to light that there were some inappropriate ads, he's certainly taking the corresponding actions of the staff in a pretty bad way, doncha think?

It's funny because I'm actually at the library right now, where I dont have adblock. So I am kind of giving a "look-see." I just found that ironic. But I'm not going to go out of my way with my one set of eyes to find one ad out of hundreds (that are only in my region of the US), when I know people are willing to help us out.

This quote above is actually fine by all regards. As you pointed out, there are ads you simply can't view because of your demographic.

I don't think everything you do is wrong. But I'll give you a comprehensive list of things I -do- think.

- You generally think through actions before you take them, and believe anything you do take action on has the primary end being beneficial to the community. :)

- To that end, most everything you do accomplish is good. But you're not the kind of person who expects a gold star. :)

- Because you're generally reflective on actions you take, it leads to a stubborn nature on stances you've acquired. :)

- That nature tends to manifest itself in an unwillingness to compromise on issues you feel strongly about. :)

- Events that arise that appear to fit the mold of a previous stance you've taken, you are quick to take action on for belief that same logic applies. :dry:

- Aforementioned stubborn nature leads to difficulty in discussions which render additional knowledge to your palette. :(

You're confused as to the difference between a power trip and a moderators power trip. Pretty much everyone has plain old power trips, because they generally feel they're right about everything and more intelligent on the stance they are arguing--thus they argue that stance.
