NAME: Shadow Steed
TYPE: Beast
HP: 40
ARMOR: 10
BLOCKING: 40%
MOVEMENT: 4 in the directions: Front, back, left, right
POWER: 18 (See below)
RECOVERY: 2
Shadow Steed is a black horse with an irredecent glow that is the color of your choice.
When blocking, Shadow Steed fades slightly, then returns to normal.
When Shadow Steed moves, all units in the way who do not move to the side are attacked. The Shadow Steed's target destination can only be on an X-Y axis (See below) and must be unoccupied.
Shadow Steed does not trample allied units.
Movement shown here: O=non-movable space X=movable space S=Shadow Steed

That's an original effect. Does this mean it can run thruogh enemy units? If so, it then deals damage by trampling over people? Seems like a hit-and-run machine, but there is always the beast rider, who I would use over this guy because of his versatility. His movement restriction makes it underpowered, but if that were removed, you would have no control over what spaces we would attack, making it difficult to plan out an attack. I recommend more power, maybe 5 movement. He is a horse, after all.

Problematic to implement due to the execution of its attack. The current TAO interface isn't designed to do this - the unit doesn't actually have an "attack" function and it would need to damage units while it moves.

This is pretty good. It's a solid melee unit.
Let's say you want to trample 4 enemy units in front of the Shadow Steed. Would the Steed move an extra space afterward to not be on top of that last unit or would that unit be pushed aside?

The destination would have to be an empty space.

Add that to your first post.

underpowered
i like teh concept though. maybe knock the recovery up to 3, make it so it can move like 4 units then "attack" up to 4 units and the final destination has to be an empty spot.
strat i can see with this is limited though. it def has the power to take on a fleet and yet is weak so i like it. it will never be able to attack a corner cleric so we cant call it a cleric killer. at the start of a game (assuming we are facing an anti) it really wouldnt be able to be used well but mid to end game it would simply dominate because units have moved and created holes. also with my idea it now becomes the farthest moving unit in the game at 8 spaces. another range unit that isnt really a range unit.

It has to be underpowered. It can't move diagonal. So that means it would have to take 2 turns just to move one diagonal space. If you had it like that he would have to have probably 3/4 dragon tyrants power. And 30 shield armor.

I like the trample effect, but like Boreal said,it would be hard to attack with without damaging your own units making it hard to make a strategic attack.. Maybe make it so it only tramples over enemy units. Butif you mean it only tramplesunits that do not move to the side,as your units are un effected, ithink it well thought, out.. Good job keep ideas coming :)

My proposal is that after the Shadow Steed reaches its destination, all units it has moved through take the damage, much like a mud-quake.

it could be a little underpowered because of the movement, as i read it can only move in a straight line, i may of read it wrong, but that and the power of 18 is why i said it was underpowered a little it should be about a power of 20-24 because of the movement.
