Alright, first off, thanks Mith for allowing me the chance to do this. Won't let you down buddy.

OK, so, until -57- returns I have been given the chance to run this tournament. With me not exactly knowing how 57 planned on running this, and with only 13 teams, I will be doing things slightly different than he may have done.

As there are only 14 teams, the match-ups will be randomized each round to avoid byes being given to the same teams over and over. If you get a bye in round 2, that's your only bye. You will not be given another.

The deadline for round 1 will be on April 11, 2008

This is NOT a tag team tournament, so there is no set order that needs to be issued. If you set a time with your opponent, you play. Do not wait for another teammate to play simply because their name appears above yours on the roster.

Disqualifications will be issued to the player who has shown less effort to get the game in. If you schedule a time to play, you better be there, as there is no leniency for missed games. I know that time zones and DST can make things difficult, so some compromises will need to be made.

Draws: in the event of a draw, it is simple to just replay it. It means you don't have to wait for the other games to be played so you can decide whether or not you need to replay. Just do it.

Rosters: I did not know how 57 wanted this to be done, so I simply used the rosters in the order they were posted in the sign up thread. If you want your roster to change for the next round, please PM me, or if 57 is back, ask him how he will be running this.

You have 10 days to get your games in people. That's plenty of time.

What with daylight savings time, I'm not sure what that puts me at in correlation to GMT, so I will tell you that it is roughly 2:40 p.m. my time at the sending of this message. I can play from 1:50 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. mondays through fridays guaranteed. Monday through friday I can also guarantee 9:00-10:30 p.m. my time. Saturdays and sundays, I can commit to any time that you give me with at least 24 hours notice. Either way, I will make 3:00 p.m. until 6 p.m. saturdays and sundays available no matter what for our game. Alright, here's the deal:

This tournament was set to start March 22. It is now April 2.

I am hesitant to allow team changes, as this tournament started over 2 weeks past its date. If your members have become inactive, it is their own fault. I'm not going to switch out players because their teammates have decided to go AWOL.

However, I do not want to issue a buttload of disqualifications. So, in the case of the Soda/Geoffrey switch, I will allow it, ONLY if Soda does not show up by Friday. This change will be allowed because Geoff was posted as a substitute. However, if Soda so much as logs on the forums between now and Friday, Geoff will not be playing, and SI will face those consequences.

For Geeky_Bastard, no substitute will be made.

For Bottle, if he can provide me with some sort of evidence that he asked not to participate before Friday, I will switch him with Shinok, who has offered.

As stated, I'm hesitant to allow these changes to be made, but I do not want disqualifications to be handed out to half the matches, so if I can avoid it I will.

For the Soda/Bottle swaps, no extra time will be alloted. You still have about a week to get games in after that, so I feel I'm being more than fair.

As for any other switches to take place: unless you can show me solid evidence that a player has requested not to join before the date of April 1, there will be NO changes in rosters.

The cut off date for ALL of these substitutions is Friday, April 4.

I originally thought this too azwop, but the problem I saw with it was that I don't want this going to disqualifications. And I do want this to remain TAL approved, but I want it to remain organized as well. I chose to give Syndicate and AK until Friday to find replacements for the members that dropped out, so I figure it is best to set the total cut off date as Friday. Really, I don't want to allow substitutes for Soda, Bottle, and GB at ALL, but I don't want to be a Nazi hard-ass and get TAL status revoked. I think that allowing until Friday allows enough of being both strict and lenient that the tournament needs.

The main problem I see with your idea is that teams would have to go about FINDING a substitute. Really, I don't like the idea of substitutes at all for a tournament like this, and if I can keep TAL status by not allowing them at all, I'd rather do that, even if it means some teams lose by disqualifications.

I'll get another opinion.

Yes, you will have many dqs and automatic wins in round 1, but at least you know the tourney will be full of active players and teams after that.

The tournament started more than 2 weeks behind schedule. Regardless of how sign ups were run, I didn't run those, I am running the tournament. And I will do so my way.

This is silly. I know Bottle said he was okay with being in originally, because I remember the annoying dispute over whether or not it was acceptable for him to join an FPS tournament and yet demand people play him on legends.

Anyway, I fully agree with IROK's post on the last page about what should take place. One exception I recommend is that you do what I did with SDST, in that each team is allowed one permanent replacement throughout the duration of the tournament. Only one, they can use it whenever they want. I think that's reasonable.

how do you know he's not a sore loser? why didnt he pm right away that he got cut off? he left the game. isn't it unbelievably strange that after playing for 20 or 30 minutes, just when it became obvious he was going to lose, his computer cuts off? no doubt he was hoping i didn't make a s/s so he could contest the game. besides its a hassle to have to continue it with him our schedules are not the same. in any case we'll let the mod of the tourney decide if kingedward is being honest or not.

Lieu its not about stats for TK its about knowing he is playing you and you playing on the account you signed up on. For instance, in SAAT i play powza his account is in the 800's but i dont complain, i just played him on llrich end of story. If you wont use your main for tournaments thats pretty sad Lius. I thought better of you.

He did know lieu was gonna play on shh. just play, therefore there is no reason for him to decline the game, it doesn't matter on what account you play as long as your opponent knows its you, there is no rule where it says you have to play on any specific account. Lieu posted in here he was gonna play on shh. just play.

Dude, did you not read what lieu said? none of us have an account in HA on rev! the leadership was stolen when the leader account got hacked in rev, HA is only a GL clan. Only because we don't have accounts in HA on rev, doesn't mean the clan doesn't exist or we can't sign up in this tourny. As far as I know your main account is not in TDP either, you are in darwking ducks. The way I see it:

So, rather than complaining that a) your opponent won't play you, b) you opponent is not using the right account, or c) arguing either side of the argument just make a new account on a server, play, and get it over with.

Ridiculously frustrating game for me. Start off playing pretty well, manage to zap a witch first turn, then take a pyro to save my cleric while hurting his scout. Then I completely miss bw'ing my cleric and so his scout gets to sac itself for my cleric. Without my cleric I start to go after his units in danger, and consecutively miss high percentage ko shots on a knight(repeatedly), an assassin, and a knight(+ a million blocking), 10 hp witch, 19 assassin, lw bw(after i'd just lost my scout).

Very good game, basicly came down to if he could get back to back scout side hits. He missed the second one.

Other interesting play was he bombed my assasin and knight, but also his scout. Which left me with 3 attacking units, but him scoutless. I was able to trade knight for cleric and damage on chanty.

And their are clans participating, they just have trouble getting games in w/ other time zones.
You have no idea wut PM's have been going around from different teams.
Once we get alittle further, wouldnt it be obvious that the "active" people would be in? since the inactive ones would be d/q'd?
