The standard anti is the best set? My spread has beaten it more times than not.

It's not the form, it's the player. Take Tarik for example Eagle. He uses these funky forms you or I would never think of using. And he wins with them. And for those that have no clue who Tarik is, think of Pun. He uses a lot of his own forms over the standard anti, and he does well.

My statement was a fact, not an opinion. The anti is the best all-around set. If you use it how it is meant to be used, it is better than any other set in terms of generally giving you a chance to win. Sure you can come up with a specific situation or a specific player style in which it falters, but that does not retract from the validity of my statement.

Well, in our free game, I used lw turtle against his anti and it was sameside. I should have not used turtle, but I did it anyway.

The turtle game was kinda close. Mag won by DT, frosty, and stoney.

Winner: Magician 2-0, Freestyle and Turtle.
Comments:

Freestyle: His lw turtle vs my same side anti. I started slowly, but kept him under enough pressure to secure an eventual win. Sac'd my dragon for his scout, leaving his stoned cleric open, and managed to get my two remaining full hp knights in deep with mud/scout cover to prevent frostwhoring.

Turtle: Same sides again, me using the standard turtle vs his standard turtle with dragon in line for a cleric kill. He got first turn, and knowing how good a player Shinok is, I knew I had to pull out all the stops. We started by exchanging scout shots on our muds. In anticipation of him bringing his mud into the fray early, I moved my dragon in front of my knight, but didn't burn his knight. He brought his mud into the game, nestling near my dragon and scout, so I attacked it with my knight and left a nice flank in the middle of the board.

He attacked my cleric - which sadly I didn't get to use all game - so I wisped his mud and scout. He wisped my wisp and his scout, so I froze his 24hp mud. My cleric died, and I attacked his wisp, moving into the gap between his wisp and mine to prevent my wisp dying. The threat of my wisp seemed good enough to warrant him destoning me, and soon my poor poor wisp died, killing his mud in the process. Using his closed in scout to my advantage (and it's 20hp), I froze his other scout. With some nifty play on both sides, he got his LoS shot on my frost, I killed his cleric. My mud still active, I proceeded to destone and block off his frost from freezing my dragon, but for loss of the scout. I mudquaked between his now two active scouts, bringing them down to 6 and 17 hp, both unstoned. He killed my mud, but left the scout there. Knowing he was going to freeze my knight, I decided to drag-burn his other scout, and freeze the remaining scout. Meanwhile, he froze my knight and started working on that. I defrosted my knight with my scout, bringing the frost to 42hp, but unfortunately lost my scout in the process, but killing his.

This left him with a full hp dragon, 42 hp knight, 42 hp frost and stone, with me having a 25 hp knight, full dragon, 42hp frost and stone. Thankfully, I had positioning and turn availability, so I froze his knight, and started going to work on that, hitting it with my knight, the drag-burned it, to which he replied by frosting my knight, then burning my knight bringing it to 4 hp. I killed his knight, releasing my frost's focus. He passed, and I moved in and frosted his dragon. He frosted my frost, and his dragon was ready to go. I hit his frost with my now active knight, and Shinok killed my knight. I then drag burned his frost, bringing it down to 7hp. I then frosted his frost, and the game was all but over, so he surrendered.

Good games, Shinok. I really enjoyed them. :)

I did not duck out of any of your challenges and for the people that claim that I was on when I was supposedly "ducking," I'm pretty sure you guys need your eyes checked. I got back late sunday and did not log on till monday. I was not aware that SAAT has started so soon since the clan grey tourney was pushed back about 2 months since registering so I figured it'd be the same. About me "dodging" tourney games that I don't think I'd win, when has this happened? The GS2 game I had against Bludz was just bad scheduling for both of us and when I came back I wanted to ask if Meat would let Bludz move on instead of me but I was already DQ'ed against MTAO which I beat the very same day. Anyways our game is done and went 2-0 my way so hopefully next time you can cool it with the name calling.

Ive gotten better in grey though. I beat AU previously in grey (first round) and i let him choose it. Also Graphics and i have played like 4 or 5 times and i know i have won at least two of those games. I keep my grey game on the DL :p Thanks for the advice though, i just am not feeling turt lately. Its just not fun like it used to be.

Ok so I just managed to find out what central Time is in GMT :D It turns out you're 6-7 hours behind me depending on the DST situation(We recently went forward an hour so you may be an hour furthe rbehind us then usual). Therefore you're coming on at 9-10 my time. I can't make that on most weekdays but from tomorrow Friday through Saturday and Sunday I can make it. So can we sort somethign out for 3PM your time on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday? Pm me back which day's best for you.

Hmm I guess if it was 3 your time then DST has put you 7 hours behind me rather then the usual 6. I was under the impression that 9 my time was 3 your time and I waited from 8:30 until 10:00. I won;t post the whole s/s since it shows a good portion of the grey units for both of us. However, I got his cleric really early and whittled him down from there. He still had a suprisingly decent chance at beating me though since he skillfully flanked me pretty well with his remaining, albeit damaged, units. Luck sealed the deal though, changing his slim chance into a no chance, as he said.

Good set Prof. Gotta be the best all-around player I've ever played.

I have to mentioned that Bax is such a class player :), first when we had to play grey I jumped him with only 9 units, I didn't even notice I had 9 units until he told me and he let me add the 10th unit lol, then later on, at the end of the game the time ran out when I moved my chanty and I didn't paralyze him, he pretended I paralyzed him and not kill the chanty and take advantage of my dumb mistake, thank you very much man, you are one class player bax, we will turt another day.
