All of these ideas can be changed and played off of. I'm just throwing these out in forums for discussion. I'm actully quite happy with the way the barrier ward already is.
The first idea is just an addition to the orginal attack. It is the ablility to place a barrier over an empty tile. At some point we have all wished that we could block a tile or a particular LoS shot. Sometimes it can be far more beneficial to block a certain tile then to actully place the barrier over a unit. *The Example that i just thought of....* If a witch is about to attack your cleric and all the units in front of it. It would help more to put a barrier over the tile in front of the witch so she can not advance staight then it would to put the barrier over the cleric and let everyone else get hit. *Another example* You can plug a hole in your wall. So that knights cannot enter your setup, or if they enter your setup you can quickly stop from getting even close to Cleric chanty witch etc.
The Second idea... This one is a little far fetched but it sounded like fun. You would have the ability to either place a normal barrier over a unit, or a trap barrier over a unit. We have all played noobs that put THERE barrier over one of OUR guys because they thought it would trap our guys in. So i thought they should give the barrier ward an ability to trap units in a barrier. Now i realize this could be too powerful if it has its 6 tile range. So you would probably have to shrink this abilities range down to about a knight or an enchantresses attack range. Now if you trapped an enemy unit. It CANNOT move, it CANNOT heal, it CANNOT be hurt, but it can be parlyzed. So its the same thing as a regular barrier except they cannot leave. If you trapped there last moveable unit in this barrior you would win because they can't move. *Examples on how to use it.* You can trap a knight so it can't move. Have your enchantress parlyze it through the ward. Then take off the barrier and replace it on Enchantress. Or if a knight breaks into your setup and gets between your units and your cleric. you can put a barrier over him, and walk YOUR knight between there knight and your cleric. Then release the barrior. This makes time for a new adequate wall. You can even make a time limit that allows this ability to last for X amount of turns before it wears off.
Again you can change anything you want about this. Im just putting it up for discussion. :)
