That's awesome. I just did the whole flower and a poem left at the doorstep thing. (which requires a lot less effort) and then a simple "will you go with me?" the next day.

Prom is a truly a wonderful night...fine dining, warm conversation, good fellowship, dance and song, laughter, and above all else, simply getting closer to that special someone and letting her know how much she means to you. :) It's romantic. Enchanting. Quixotic.

And because it's such a special night, I think Elemental is right to be giving thoughtful consideration to the way in which he asks his girlfriend to prom. His invitation to prom will itself be a memorable event...something that both he and his girlfriend will tuck close to their hearts for the rest of their lives.

Thank you DFP for sharing a perfect example of an unforgettable prom invitation. I'm sure that your special girl will bear with her for the rest of her life the image of you trotting toward her across a football field with roses in hand, a smile on your face, and the "Prom?" banner raised high behind you.

Of course, unlike DFP, you may not have an entire track team at your disposal to help with your prom invitation. If that is the case, I suggest an alternative approach. Sure, it may not be quite as grandiose as DFP's performance, but what it lacks in flamboyance, I think it more than makes up in intimacy and sensitivity. Here's the scenario:

You walk up to your girlfriend, point at her, then yourself, and say, "You. Me. Prom. And don't bother paying much for a fancy dress cause you ain't gonna be wearin it that long!"

Then you pivot to the side to face your best friend who is waiting (timing is critical here) with his hand already overhead to receive your high five. Then your friend says (immediately - again, timing is everything), "Now that's what I'm talkin bout! Gonna make the monster with two backs. Yeah!"

Chicks melt for that kind of stuff. :cool:

Or, you could simply take her to rev and impress her with your shrub avey.

My date, my friends and I showed up stoned as hell and absolutely trashed, but somehow we managed to get past the vice principal with no problem, who was checking everyone at the door he thought was drunk and had a cop standing by with a breathalyser. It really would have sucked if I'd have gotten caught as my dad worked for the school system at the time and it would have been around 2 minutes before he knew about it and he would have killed me.

Junior Prom sucks, I'm sure Senior prom will be more worth it. Part of it is because I didn't have a car to drive my date, part of it is because its expensive, and part of it is because my date was not much of a dancer, but she warmed up later on... Just isn't fun to dance while dressed up like that, can't dance comfortably.

Ay.... hmmm... well if you want to know something even funnier, the President ("Current" he has given me full power [I was the Vice-President]) also wore a Zoot suit, however his was white, the thing is because of out height difference and difference in size, we did not look stupid, even though we had the same style on, out personality's changed the suit to fit use in our own ways.... That and also the fact that he looked stupid in his. The kid is a wrestler, one of our schools best for the 145 weight class however... he is really short.
