I can't speak on behalf of the moderators as a whole, but inked got my vote for impressing me a tremendous deal both in the moderator's interviews and particularly in my PM discussion with him. Where everyone was whining pointlessly and rolling over at the slightest hint of a challenge, inked stepped up, stood for what he thought was best, and actually offered a reasonable solution. I find it all too appropriate that we selected for moderator one of the few people here who actually takes the effort to think for themselves. He's independent, rational enough to make even-handed decisions, and he's willing to focus on Banff, which a great number of the current and former mods (myself included) neglected. Even then, considering the stuff he's done in the past, it was a weighty choice.

I'm not going to state my opinion on the matter, because frankly nobody cares about the opinions posted here anyway. It's not up to us (the normal members) as to what the mods do.

Actually, our thoughts on community members has a lot to do with how the mods pick the new ones. Think about it, if someone like Snowolf wanted to be mod. He isn't the most liked guy on the forums, but he is always in game and probably might do a good job. But the fact that we do not like him has a lot to do as to why he wasn't chosen, along with many other members.

The mods that were chosen know the game very well.

Gryph: Been around for a long time, was the leader of a great clan, and a very respected member.

Inked: Very respected on all of his names, can be serious when he needs to be and will put his job before is fooling around. And we all know that.

Magician: Duh.

Poop Slinger: Also known as meletus. Leader of a great clan, sure he just got back, but he knows how this game works and what needs to be done.

The Professor?: Not very active on the forums, but extremely active in game.

Worker: In game alot, and on the forums alot. A very well rounded person.

I really don't see why there is so much complaining about the selections. These are very good picks who will do a spectacular job at what they have been chosen to do.

How on earth are we supposed to pass judgment to the point where we trust someone with being a mod if we dont know them? Granted, several appointments are based off impressions we get of people... but if we know you, and know you're qualified... well... yeah, we'll think of you. At the same time, if we know you and know you arent qualified, it will affect your position with us greater too compared to people we dont know, just in a negative way.
