GS3: Random Units

Ok, pretty much the same rules as GS1&2 but with a few minor differences. I still advise you to read them all the way through, and keep them fresh in your head.

GS3: Random Units Rules
Double Elimination: This means if you lose 1 game, you're still alive and have a chance at winning the tournament! You will be transfered to the losers brackets where you can fight your way to the top once again! This also means there may be some crucial rematches, so don't be surprised if you have to play the same person twice.

PM's: The best way for me to know your activity is for you to post what you've been doing. Please send arrangement PM's to your opponents and post those PM's in this thread. This will better secure you against disqualification (see below), if the opponent agrees to a time that they do not show up to, or neglects to post anything at all.

Battle Reports: For the benefit of me, for brackets, and for the benefit of the reading of the forum, please report your games as battle reports. If available, please use a screen shot. If not, simply describe the match up. It is the winner's responsibility to make a battle report unless otherwise specified. Battle Reports should be formatted as follows:


Match up: Player A / Player B
Winner: Player A
Comments: Blah Blah Blah.
Screen shot: (Optional)This will allow me to more easily comprise battle reports and continue the brackets. The best way to annoy the Tournament Host (me!) is to not follow the format. Annoying the Tournament Host = bad.

Disqualifications: Players can be disqualified for the following:
[1] Inactivity. If a game is not played, the least active person will be determined and will count toward one loss.
[2] Violation of TOS. Fraudulent screen shot, trolling, swearing, spamming, the works. This will not be tolerated and result in disqualification from the entire tournament and this years TAL competition.
[3] 0 Tolerance Policy on personal insults. 100% tolerance policy on trash talk. I withhold liberty to make this judgment throughout the entire tournament. Warnings will be issued before disqualifications. Disqualifications will be treated as TOS violation.
[4] I withhold the liberty to remove anyone from this tournament as I see fit. (with Meat/Mith's approval)


Rounds.
Rounds will be 5 days in length to include at least one weekend day during every round. Activity disqualifications for unplayed games will happen on day 6. Due to several preliminaries, round 1 will be extended 3 days. If both opponents have completed a round, you may certainly go ahead in rounds to complete games, you don't need to wait until the turnover date.
Round 1: Mon May 5- Sat May 10 (DQ: Sun May 11)
Round 2: Sun May 11 - Fri May 16 (DQ: Sat May 17)
Round 3: Sat May 17 - Thur May 22 (DQ Fri May 23)
Round 4 Friday May 23 - Wed May 28 (DQ:Thurs May 29)
Because the losers bracket is completely dependent on the winner bracket to be able to move forward, round dates will start becoming more difficult after about round 4. These dates will be TBA and will likely be shorter in length and more specific. Please be on the lookout for these if you are still in the tournament at about round 4.

I was thinking this just right now, thanks for naming it wack. People should use the same units every 2 rounds, and change those units for every other 2 rounds. Basically, that way you'll have in the end the losers using the same units the winners are using, instead of making up new sets for people to use. I think it should be every 2 rounds a change for those on Losers Round.

Pils and I just had a brief conversation about the rounds. He said loser rounds use the same units as the winners rounds.

Someone help me out here, but to me it seems like this: if you lose your first round you'll have to play with the same units again, yet you have to play 10 rounds before you reach the final, while the winner of all rounds only has to play 5 rounds to reach the final.

How can the units be the same? Am I mistaken, am I forgetting something?

Me and xEaglex played again, I thought it would be best if i just swapped my BW (the unit i accidentally put in instead of sassi) with sassi.

He said OK to it, and i won due to a mistak eon his part of moving his assassin and letting me getting in a very annoying Wisp move, getting all his attacking units able to attack it. I got a chanty for it with him having a weak cleric. We then swapped off cleric with me also getting a scout in the trade, then I lost my mud but wuickly regained his scout. He surrendered when i paralyes his BR and sassi, with his mud on 2 turn wait and needing two movements to attack it. GG, sorry about the BW mistake at the start.

Description: It was an opposite side game. We both had second corner forms, but mine was just better. I got first turn and went on the attack early, grabbing his enchantress with my BR early on. He got a frontal on it to kill it, which, although annoying, wasn't too costly. He played well to protect his cleric at that point, and pushed to set up a counter attack. Really, we were in a bit of a dead spot for a few turns, until he moved his BR and wisp into threatening positions. But my chanty pulled through, as his range was still on the other side of the board, and I managed to take his mud and wisp for my own wisp. I lost my cleric soon thereafter, but he was now left with a BR and scout against my Knight, witch, chanty, and scout. He got my chanty, and I grabbed his scout and BR soon afterwards. Good game Mav. Okay, here is the deal. ZADICO and I had our game.

The first game we attempted he was d.ced right off the bat. I, being such a nice guy, agreed to have a rematch, same sets.

So we had a rematch and it was going prtty good. we swapped a couple units each and then once again, he was d.ced. This time, I think I had 1 or 2 units more than him. I'm getting someone to host the s.s of it then give me the direct link because I am unable to which is why I didn't take a s.s of everyone's health. I didn't have enough time and before I knew it, I was being kicked out myself. ZAD had already got d.ced.

Anyway, I just recieved the s.s so see for yourself. I'm not sure what should be done for this but I'd like to take the win. :)
