I have a question. Since some people are allowed extensions, is there anyway that Afo and I be granted one as well?

Although Afo and I didn't officially set up a time frame for tonight, we came so close in getting our game in if only I got home several minutes early. Today, it was busy at my workplace, so I came home at about 11:30 PM. After taking shower, and watching TV while I waited for the water to make tea, I got on at about 12 AM. I saw Afo still on the forum, so I immediately logged on my forum account and sent him a pm telling him that I will be waiting for him on Rev.

While waiting, I kept checking his profile to see what he was up to. And all I saw on his activity line was him checking the "Battle Recording Thread" at 12:03 AM. Even after 20 minutes, that stayed the same. So I assumed he was offline yet his forum account was still on.

This is basically what happened. We came so close if only one of us could either come online early or delay departure a little bit.

I will set up another time with Afo possibly on Sunday if you don't mind. Since he doesn't really want to play tao on Saturday due to personal reasons, I am not going to force a meeting on that day. The time frame will be either before 12 PM or after 10:30 PM Eastern Time.

I haven't played a single game since I last played The Professor?. On top of that, my eyes were getting a little bit sore from reading as I waited for him to show up. That's why when he first challenged me, I didn't respond because I was on BusinessWeek. :)

I started off with offense as I had a slight setup advantage. At the beginning, I was doing okay, putting him on defense. As the game progressed, my eyes were getting worse, which caused me to rush a lot of moves. :)

And one more thing, sorry to say that I am not going to play in the Loser's Round. I have too much reading to do.;)

I got DQed yet, I was the one active the first part of the week and I stated that Thursday-Saturday I had work and was only available 3-6pm my time those days. I didn't recieve a PM from him until Thursday when I sent him a good PM 4 days before hand and I myself was able to get on those days very easily as I am off work those days. (Sunday-Wednesday)

I replied to his PM that I could get on 3-6pm on Saturday and was going to attempt at getting on Sunday Morning for him. He replied with that he would try to get on Saturday and on Sunday. I was here 3-6pm on Saturday waiting for him on Rev and on Sunday I was beyond tired to stay up in the morning to play him. (I work the night shift)

IF anything it should be a double DQ because I was on Saturday the time I told him and he didn't show and the same goes for me. I didn't show up on Sunday to play him either. Mehh, just thought I would argue my case because I find it not fair.

Meh, this might be a little difficult. I work nights and only time I will be able to play is Sunday morning when I am tired off my ass. I can be on around 7:45am my time, which would be 11:45pm your time if I am not mistaken. I can't get on much tomorrow only around 3-6pm my time, if you want I will be on then as well.

Comments: I was quite lucky in opening knight skirmishes. I hit pretty much everything, also blocked a few knight hits (while his knights blocked maybe once, IIRC) and that put me in major lead, killing his cleric for my witch. To add to the injury, my scout scored a frontal on his assassin. Sorry, it doesn't feel good to win like this, at all.

Description: Centered wardless against centered with wards. Game started out pretty much for him, but after some desperate moves from me, I made him worry about his offense leaving his sassy on 22, knight and scout on 16. After that I simply busted a couple of knights in killing everything. In the end, game complicated a bit for me while I had 2 frozen knights, my scout and cleric, and had another frozen knight on the other side of the field and my knight at the middle of the way. It came down to his 22 sassy trying to avoid my 27 hp knight from killing one of his knights and untrapping all his units. He didn't hit the lucky hit, and that was the moment were I won.

You need to qualify for Losers Bracket Round 7 to earn TAL points, or the Semi Finals of the Winners Bracket. (which, if you lose, puts you in Losers Round 8)

Comments: He started out extremely well, pressuring my flank with the help of a couple early blocks/hits to weaken one of my knights to 10hp, which was retreated out of threatening pyro range. Having two knights halfway into my set, and unsure what to do, I flung my other knight into the fray, taking a few blows, and with the help of my LW and sac'd witch, his knight. Down a pyro and witch for his pyro and knight, with scout/knight/witch in threatening positions, I thought my cleric would be gone if he brought his assassin up the flank. Thankfully, he didn't, but unfortunately decided to attack my scout instead. Needless to say, he died, but not without loss, killing his knight through an overlooked LoS shot, and critically weakening his scout.

During this mid-game phase, 3k brought his remaining pryo and assassin into the fray. With his 3knights now dead, an assassin bomb or chanty-whoring seemed the most viable option for his victory. Pyro'ing his assassin to 22hp, I attacked its side with my assassin, which was blocked, but cornering his assassin. His pyro in my LW zone with turn wait, and my assassin at full hp, I opened the backshot to his assassin. The end neigh, I LW'd his pryo, and killed his last remaining attacker, at which point he surrendered.

Good game again, 3000. Definitely my most fun, enjoyable and thought-provoking match so far in this tournament. :)

I got for your witch's side, it blocks. Now, I am position to attack the chanty, with scout support, but since your witch blocked, you put 18 on my ATTACKER, that YOU need to defend... so you get a free hit, as well as SAVE your witch. While my knight is in good position, I am down a unit and down health.

Understand that one move makes the game when you play high caliber matches. It's like a game of chess. When you play at grandmaster level, when you are down a pawn, it usually means a loss.

Hopefully, all you guys will learn a very important lesson in the TAO playing, and that is luck is a part of the game. Everyone says it, but few understand the real meaning of that phrase. Expect the unexpectable, if you have 1% to lose the game you actually COULD lost it. And yeah, you can get pretty annoyed when your opponent doesnt recognize the luck factor and how it changes the games (on the example above), but you know, you will always get your chance for revenge :) A game doesnt prove anything but consistency and sportmanship, its not the end of the world.
Be gentlemen and good sport, in the win as in the loss.

Honestly, I'd agree with TACTOHOLIC. Luck is a factor in this game, I also get upset when I lose because of luck, but I('m) try(ing) not to mention it. Seriously, DMD... Deto also said he had some luck, which is something recognizable, and worthy of it.

I am GMT -5, seems you can only play at early hours in the morning. I dislike waking up early, but if I do I'd like to play you. So, I'd really prefer arranging a game at another hour. I am disposable from 10AM-11 PM (GMT-5) basically any weekdays. I am sure one out of those 13 hours must work for you. If not, I'll simply have to wake up one day early.

Comments: Middle vs. Corner turt. I went on the offensive and put the pressure on him, thanks to a couple early blocks. I was able to get his witch, sassy, pyro, and cleric, and some damage to his knights and scout for my three knights. He still had enough manpower to pull off a counterattack, but his misclick killed any chance of that happening. Good game tho Mag.

I'd have had 36hp knight, 33hp knight, 18hp knight against full scout, assassin, wards, cleric and chanty. It would have taken a miracle and some fluke luck to win.
