Personally, I like XGen Studios' games, but TAO would be one of my favorites if I had been able to play it for the past week! :D

I'd say Warcraft, but I like to play Tao more. If I had a better comp I'd play that more.

As of right now TAO is my current favorite game, it's been that way since about November when I first started playing.

The Dark Lord is usually not one to play favorites, but the most engaging game Wurtil has ever seen (or to put it in a more descriptive way, the most well-developed movie that the Dark Lord has ever played) would have to be Xenosaga. It is quite a great combination of mystery, role-playing, long cut scenes, and stupendous references to a wide variety of things. Of course, this is a single-player game, but the question did not count such things as out of bounds. Similarly, Super Mario Bros. 3 comes in at a close second. Oh the hours that the Dark Lord has spent conquering World 5 just for the fun of it. Little Dark Lords need nothing more than pants and Super Mario Bros. 3 to become as evil as I. But I digress. . .

Your friendly neighborhood Dark Lord,
Wurtil

Of those on the poll, TAO, and it isn't close. I don't know why people play Warcraft, it is horrendously boring; Age of Empires I/II is still the best RTS game out there. As for games as a whole, Baldur's Gate II has never been duplicated in terms of plot, characters, world-creation. Morrowind similarly, no other game has created such a fascinating and open world to explore. And you can't forget Fallout I! Its NPC's aren't as interesting as BGII, but the cities are extremely well made. In strategy games civilization II of course....I realized a few days ago that none of my top 10 games, except Morrowind (and now TAO), have been created in the last 3 years....that's sort of depressing.

Ever play AOM people? More evolved form of AOE I would say. The campaign has a pretty good plot and the X-Pack for it was pretty good too. The Age series shall forever hold sway over the RTS Tower O' Power. At least until it doesn't. Yeah...Your right SKOF, Wurtil is like our own little Ghost. One day, people who have been on these servers since the beginning will be able to gather around all those new to the forums and amazing them with tales of the time when they saw the legendry Wurtil suddenly leap out of the shadows and write out a great feast of literary imagnation.

Halo is the best first person shooter ever. The multiplayer mode is beyond awesome.

I played AOM. I think RTS games need to learn that they aren't RPGs.

okay halo is NOT the greatest FPS ever, get that through ur heads, its kewl, greanted, easily in the top 3, but Half-Life and DOOM shall forever own the FPS genre, do not argue

and yeah fallout rocked, as does NeverWinter Nights (plus its two Xpacks) oh and Total annihilation will forever own the RTS genre, again, dont argue ;)

and yeah wurtil, xenosaga is kewl (though i have never played it, i've heard enough to feel like i have ;) ) and who can forget super mario 3? i mean, honestly... oh yeah, and super mario RPG legend of the secen stars was amazing :D
