Sure np. Are those matches for high school, or are you doing it independently?

Not high school. But we do have teams. My coach has been to the olympics, and my other coach is president of the boxing club (Tommy Davenport)

lol thanks blex. Yeah he had size, experience, and weight on me. And that haymaker <(sp) i threw when he was dazed hoping to hit him. When a boxer throws a haymaker they don't expect to hit him but it causes damage when we do.

They usually cause damage when anyone lands them, not just boxers.

Get off him, everyone loses every now and then. You've probably never even been in a fight. Not to mention you don't have the balls to post one on here.

I would recomend not trying to block so many punches with your face.

I was being a good sport to post one of my losing fights I could have posted one of my winning ones, but not as fun. :P Thanks though guys. I expected more, "I can take you" remarks :P I misjudge i guess.

Why would a boxer throw a punch not expecting to hit their opponent with it?
Why would ANYONE throw a punch not expecting to land it?

to get him to back up maybe?

and... like I said he was dazed, so really I was expecting to hit it, but slipped the punch. You should see my second fight ^^ I definitely need to upload it... The whole fight I threw haymakes.

If you ever want to go anywhere with boxing, I don't think you should do that.
I'm just going to speak from experience (my experience is playing Fight Night Round 3 for the PS2) but haymakers tend to wear you out and take away some stamina, which you'll need in later rounds.

Lex doesn't need to fight. He could just look at someone and knock them out.

I would use your jab a little more often, and when you are fighting someone bigger than you, I suggest trying to get inside and throw some body bunches. Your uppercuts look pretty good. Your combo's are looking pretty good, but keep the combo's up. And I know how you feel about haymakers. But I only throw them when I know they will hit. :) Good fight though.

I did some boxing in high school / college. I was always at a height disadvantage (as you seem to have been), being only about 5'6". I found that the single best way to win, or at least have a good shot, was tons and tons of body blows. The head is pretty well protected by the gear, so only a dead-on, unblocked shot is going to register a lot of damage. The body is usually only protected by a shirt (sometimes rib pads, but that's an uncommon rule in my limited experience). As the shorter guy, it's easier to hit the opponent's body, as it's not as long a reach for you. You can throw faster, more powerful punches. If you are shorter then your opponent, reaching for the head takes more stamina and since it's a longer distance, the opponent has more time to react and your shots won't do as much. Repeated body blows in the opening rounds can make the opponent drop his hands, which then brings the uppercut into play. You also conserve your energy by using compact punches, while forcing your taller opponent to use more energy by stooping to get to you. My recreational stuff used to go 5 rounds. Looks like you only go 3. It's harder to tire someone out in 3 rounds, so this may not be the best strategy for you.
Good luck.
