It's not a bot :p.
Anywho, I have a bluetooth headset, and my boyfriend is always telling me to use it but I don't like to. There's just something about not using hands that puts me off.
Besides, I'm going to be distracted while driving if I'm on the phone, period - magical unicorn headset or no.

bluetooth ..whats your opinion?it exists. if you like the functions it provides at the price needed to buy the hardware, use it.
I have a different question for people: many laptop sellers are advertising built in bluetooth. Now, is this for PDAs and such? Or is there some other use I'm missing?

Bluetooth is good for wireless mice and whatnot as well. But I think PDAs are the "important" application.
Don't talk while driving! :P

Everytime I think about bluetooth, I think about the Boondocks episode.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that law only apply to talking on the cell phone while driving, and texting is still legal?
I would not much worry about the law in this case. It's one of those laws that they put in place for a bit to make some politician to look like he is doing something for the betterment of his constiutates....I doubt if law enforcement would make a big deal about it.

Just stop phone sexing players and you won;t be as distracted.
As for the legal application of the law.... What this law is for is so that when you cause an accident while talking on the phone, they can double up the charges against you.
As for Bluetooth itself.....
I liked having the device, and have one on an office computer for the soft-phone on it. I used to use it while driving cab, but don;t anymore because we went back to the crappy reliable phones because the drivers kept breaking the good ones.
The ability to answer the phone with a tap on the device, then go back to driving/operating meter/flipping people off more than pays for itself.
Personally, i prefer a simply earset, costs $40. Make sure and recharge at night.

When other people have their Bluetooth on, I can pick up information and files from their phone.

Only if they don;t set their unit up correctly. Same as with wireless for computers.

Thats something i was also wondering.
Here's something i'd like to know to. If you have a "CB" cellphone (http://www.crunchgear.com/wp-content/photos/29LTDBT.jpg) can you get arrested for using it while driving?

Jeffery, most people only know how to call and text with a mobile. It works 90% of the time.

As most people never WEP or password their wireless routers. It is not the fault of the person who makes such a device that the people using it are too stupid to read the instructions about securing it.

2,500 tickets compared to 45,000 speeding tickets....I like my odds. I like them even more as time passes and this becomes more of a back burner issue.

Yeah, but 2500 tickets where the previous month there were 0.
And speeding is a lot easier to not only see, but prove.

Country wide; any device that does not allow you to have 2 hands on the wheel is illegal. You can drive with 1 hand on the wheel, but you must have the ability to put the other on the wheel. Herein, standard cars become an issue sometimes. At least, this is what I was told in drivers education.

I thought in some states your allowed to talk on your cellphone while driving. Cuz over here (Pennsylvania) everyone's on the phone while driving.

I wouldn't use my a convertible top or roll down the window because everyone could hear my calls. That would suck.

Your drivers ed lied to you then. There are no country wide rules pertaining to two hand on the wheel.

Bluetooth does have its advantages..especially being hands free. Some people prefer to have a headset so they can be hands free everywhere..the store..driving..etc. I have some friends that would rather have a device like the motorokr t505 car kit because its not on you yet you still can make calls, link your music to it, both through the car stereo and they like the audio caller id which once again helps you keep your eyes on the road.
