Ok, so many months straight of drinking are starting to catch up with me. I'm 6'1" and weigh 225. I want some tips on losing as much weight as possible by around christmas time.

when i went vegetarian and stopped eating processed foods and shit, i lost a good amount of weight.

But in all seriousness, get your metabolism going. Instead of eating a few large meals per day eat a small meal every few hours. Also, exercise, exercise, and more exercise. Run outside, run on a treadmill. Lift weights.

Since most people are giving you sarcastic answers I will try and actually.. help you. Weight is tricky, different things works for different people. Ill start by telling you what works for me. Working out about 5 times a week 2 hours a day, watching what I eat, cutting down on carbs. I'm not saying starve yourself but instead of eating.. say 3 meals a day. Try eating 5 smaller meals per day. Mine is 9:00 am breakfast ||| 12:00 lunch ||| 3:00 lunch (again) ||| 7:00 dinner ||| 10:00 Snack. You can try what works for you, hope this helped. Try that for about 2 weeks and weigh yourself before and after.

Nothing works for me, 6'0, 205-210 lbs.
I eat a good diet, excersize daily.
A good idea is to eat five smaller meals per day, instead of three large ones.

Just an add on men who are vegetarians long enough tend to become more feminine in body characteristics. This is what my Human Sexuality teacher told us in class about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I'd have to research it more though.

Obviously you're going to lose weight if you stick to a strict diet and exercise regularly. That's just commone sense. But you're asking for tips to help lose weight quickly by Christmas. Healthy tips, I assume. Here are a few.
1. Don't drink your calories. I don't know what you drink ( besides beer :cool:). Whether it's pop, frappucinos, Rockstars are Jamba Juices with protein boosts. Try to cut back or cut out high calorie drinks for a while. Drink more water, give green tea a try, but don't get your calories through a straw.
2. Try to establish a breakfast routine. Breakfast is easy. No matter what your life or schedule is like, chances are you usually wake up every morning at home. You can get up and have a bowl of cereal ( not Cookie Crisp ) and an apple or something just about every morning if you make a point to. It's easy to leave the house without eating, realize soon after that you're hungry as hell, and grab some piece of convenient crap.
3. I'm no personal trainer and I'm not going to tell you what exercises to do, but you do need to exercise. I've read that if you're looking to lose weight fast, it helps to do cardio in the morning as opposed to any other time of day. The reason is that your body will burn more fat that is stored, rather than from what you've been eating all day, and getting your heart rate going early helps boost your metabolism and gives you energy throughout the day. Maybe that doesn't fit your schedule, and maybe it doesn't matter. The point is that you've got to find time to exercise, even if it's only 20-30 minutes every other day or so.

But whatever you do, and this is probably my most important piece of advice, DO NOT switch to light beer.
It's just not worth it.;)

I went from 126 to 146 in about a 15 month period. Due to drinking and lack of exercise.

As far as the drinking goes, you and I probably both know we're not willing to give that up. What I'd recommend is to be smart about it. On a heavy night of drinking, I used to have 8-9 beers easily. Take even bud light, that's 110 calories per drink. That's 990 calories of drinking in one night. I switched to diet coke with barcardi almost exclusively. That's 50-60 calories per shot. That works out to ~495 calories on a night. 500 calorie difference is big.

hey, i cant play a guitar or anything, but i dont eat meat or processed foods, i bathe regularly, im covered in piercings, i draw mad crazy shit and am gonna be a tattoo artist, and run around outside without shoes on all the time, in the woods or stuff.

and im healthy.
the smell of meat has always bothered me, and the disease that ca get carried from what they do to it, id rather not take the chance.
not to mention you are what you eat.

No but seriously, depending on how old you are I can help you out.

When I was 13 I was 5'2 188 lbs. I'm now 17 and 5'10 166 lbs. Oh, and no, me hitting my growth spurt was not the reason I'm not fat anymore, because my BF% back then was 39-42% and it is now low 20% Still not as good as I was when I worked out, but I need to renew my Bally's subscription :( .

EDIT: Vegetarians are pussies. Or have one.

1. Drink lots of water during the day, and nothing else. Maybe seltzer, cuz its just water and CO2. It contains no calories, is delicious, and helps keep your body functioning better.

2. Instead of three large meals a day, have 4-6 smaller meals that are more spread out during the day. The body isn't made to eat three big sittings a day and does a poor job of digesting and using the nutrients in the food that way. By eating smaller portions more constantly you stay full and get more from what you eat.

Ex. Breakfast - banana, yogurt, tea, crackers. 12 - snack on some bread and cheese idk 3 - get yourself a wrap or some sort of "food" 6- some pasta 9- tea with finn crisps and hummus idk --> the point is eat with simplicity and try to make healthy choices with what you can. Just being conscious of what choices your making tend to make them healthier.

3. Exercise when possible. Obviously no one wants to go to the gym or run. So, try to take the long way to someplace, walk instead of drive. Take the stairs instead of elevator. Once again, make conscious choices to remind yourself if I put a little bit more work in, i'll get a little bit more out.

The best thing though, is still actually putting a decent amount of physical work on your body to burn calories. I have a friend who went from being a WoW addict to running 4 miles a day, and looks great now no homo.

Jump rope (great for calves and endurance) is easy, running is easy.
Most important thing is to just nike. ie just do it. Gotta have that determination to start, the rest is easy.

4. Write out a schedule. Based on how things are going / how serious you are, having a schedule will keep things simple and help you stay organized and let you know/give you more time to work out / think healthy.

I had a weight problem after I got out of highschool and quit working out. I've pretty much got it under control again.

Anyway, don't snack, drink water and find a way to exercise. I basically went back to what I was doing in high school. Open up with a mile jog, 1 minute of push-ups (as fast and good quality as possible), 1 minute of sit-ups (ditto), do some basic stretches to loosen up and then hit the weights. Bench press, squats, dumbell curls, lat pulls etc(I like to switch it up regularly but always keeping bench press and squats in the mix)...10 reps each time and cycle through twice. It doesn't take all that long and it works for me.

A lot of what banditto said is good.

Edit: Didn't catch if anyone said it yet, but try not to eat after 7pm. Assuming you go to bed at a normal time. The idea is don't eat a few hours before you go to sleep. You can't do anything with those calories. That's something that also helped me quite a bit.

thanks liz, yeah my hair is so fricken thick it sticks out everywhere even when i straighten it, but i dont mind. haha its also kinda shoved everywhere cause it was like 90 degrees outside and in, and i had a hoodie on so i was sweating somewhat.

So let me get this straight. You are and have been sick as fuck for a while now, and plan on being this way for a bit longer. Yet your body is a temple (one that i'd love to skeet on, mind you) and you take care of it sooo much. Yet I am a disgusting barbaric carnivore that eats all kind of "icky things". So can you tell me why our bodies both get sick normally and how you are pulling shit out of your ass because you probably just prefer to not eat meat because you read about some really "yucky" things they put in your food?

Here's what you do. Eat a light breakfast and a light lunch. Excercise in the evening to the point that you tax your body. Walking isn't excercise, power walking isn't excercise, if you sweat that doesn't mean the workout is over either. I'm talking about bending over and putting your hands on your knees and feeling like dying....and then pushing past that level. On then will the weight loss happen. Eat a normal dinner. You should've had a net loss of calories and carbs causing you to wake up thinner. Continue this and you now have a cycle.

Warning: If you eat bull shit food then expect bull shit results.

Everyone knows that the body stores fat if you don't eat, which causes the whole flab thing and I'm pretty sure he doesn't want that because it isn't too attractive in a lot of peoples eyes. I know your kidding, but I can't stand it when oeople say that for some reason.

Eat healthier, liquor is a very good idea suppose? Not near as many carbs as beer, beer some how doesn't have fun in I seen on Manswers. Pretty awesome show I'm not going to lie. Have a balanced diet, run for about 30 min to an hour everyday.

What makes weight loss so hard at first is that you have a natural body weight. Unless you wrestle like me or your an old guy who sits on his ass you have a body weight you say at. You said your about 225? Most likely no matter how much you eat or if you have a day where you only get a couple of meals, when all is said and done you'll probably end up at 225.

Now here's the key to weight loss. Burn fat, not water weight. A lot of people lose water weight thinking they've put off real pounds. You will only cause yourself disappointment when you end up waking up and you are, in fact, your original body weight.

What I meant by taxing is pushing past the level of discomfort. Once people start breathing heavily or feel the breaking point they just stop. Don't. If you do you won't get better than what you are. It means making the sacrifice. If you can't find something to eat skip the meal. Don't listen to bull shit by health 'gurus'. Make yourself work hard and want it.

Edit: I also want you to take your shirt off and look in the mirror everyday. Don't flex, don't suck in your stomach or squint your eyes. Look at yourself for what you are and that should be enough motivation to reach your goal.

You're completely off bud, Americans have the whole eating cycle wrong. Your suppose to have a heavy breakfest to help you get threw the energy to make it threw the day. Then Lunch and dinner are suppose to be something lite. Could even have just a small snack in between.

I wrestle so I don't think I'm off. I cut weight on a yearly basis on short notice and short time.

I wrestle too? I try maintaining a weight so I can stay in the same weight class. If I have to jump too, Plastic suits and cars were made for a reason. Works for me it seems, swimming too. Burns a lot more calories then you'd think.

Also, 5 meals per day > 3 meals per day. Although I guess that what you said is somewhat the same though. I heard big breakfeast, light brunchish (or just a above decent sized snack), light/medium lunch, light... lupper?, and a light supper, and a light snack.

Which is why your always fighting to maintain a certain weight. Your body has too much energy at the end of the day when you fall asleep which causes it to be stored or pooped out. Mainly it's stored though. AKA fat.
