Special: Shield -- This unit has a shield surrounding it's body which gives it an opaque blue glow. The Shield which surrounds the unit has a Max HP of 20 which cannot be healed (But regains 4 HP after each turn). This Shield HP is separate from its regular HP. The Shield HP is not affected by armor and it has 0% blocking. When this unit is attacked by the enemy The Shields HP is drained first. (If a scout hits it the shield will be drained down to 2, if a Knight hits it the shield will be drained to 0 and 2 damage will be done to Synergon.)
Energy Blast -- The Synergon Utilizes the Power of its protective shield and focuses it into an extremely powerful attack .
This is the Unit's Primary attack and this is how it works: The synergon's Power is directly related to the HP of its shield. When the Shield is at max (20 HP) the Unit will have an unblockable attack of 25. However As soon as this unit attacks, the Shield energy Drops to 0. This can be seen as the synergon using up all the power it has stored up to create the shield and focusing it into a powerful Energy Blast .
If a scout gets in a shot before the synergon can attack the synergon's shield will be at 2 (20-18). His attack power is determined by the shields HP which is added to the minimum attack power of 5, so 5 + 2 = 7 therefore the synergon will have an attack power of 7. At the beinning of YOUR turn every turn the shield gains 4 HP. Therefore when its your turn the shield gains 4HP which means it will be 2 + 4 + 5 = 11 attack power for the synergon.
Tactics:
-This unit has so many possiblities to be used. It can stay near the back as a last resort to kill any units which venture into your formation.
-It can be an offensive unit with a really high max damage.
-It would be the only unit which would benefit from being Barriered for a long period of time as it's shield power still increases as it is barriered.
This unit has a lot of factors affecting its balance. On one hand its extremely powerful with a Max range of 5 and a Max of 25 unblockable damage. On the other hand enemy scouts can keep its damage down to 7 or 11.
It becomes extremely susceptable to enemy attacks right after it attacks because all of the shield energy it has is reduced to 0 and it has NO blocking.
