How do you put Abercrombie and Ecko in the same Category? They're both for people who think a certain brand of clothing will give them a different social status.

Thrift store shopping is not only in urban areas, but it saves you money and you can get good stuff there if you really search. Just stay away from the underwear and socks. Underwear and socks... there's no such thing as hand-me-downs.

Pac Sun, Hot Topic for band shirts and an occasionally just odd ball one. Zumiez, Track 101, TJ maxx.
I grew as a big JNCO and jive fan but JNCO is so damn hard to find now adays. Jive are only good for jeans, there shirts just plan blow.

Pac Sun for me as well. I'm not a big skateboarder but I like most of their cloths and brands.

Recently I've been shopping at
Old Navy
Mexx One shirt & my favourite shirt ever
Bluenotes
Couple footlocker shirts
Get my plain white Tees and boxers from Wal-Mart
Got a sweater from Sears
All my socks are from Roots (there is no nicer feeling pair of socks then Roots socks) along with the odd shirt
I like some American Eagle, paticularily the pants, but I just can't put out that kinda money on their rediculously overpriced clothes very often. Plus their stuff would look better without their logo
Instead of shorts I buy swimshorts from Bikini Bay
And as a side note, I won't go near Gap after the kinda crap I've been seeing in there... Those pink collared tees -- you just know the guy thats going to buy that is going to pop the collar. Then those crazy preppy/nerdy sweaters, gah.
As for clothes style I try to lean towards typical simple shirts, and blue jeans, and occasionaly will lean towards preppy, punk or hiphop.

The appropriate term is Overpriced. I'm, by many definitions, poor. Atleast to the point where I can't afford to often be wasting money like that.
I'm going to the Eaton center tomorow (well, walking around downtown Toronto really, eatons center is just one the more famous places) I'll probably check out a few clothing places there.

I must agree!
Especially where I work right now. I about back handed this chick because she was all upset she got paint on her pants. Don't wear them to work dumb***. Anyway.
I think the most expensive thing I own is my jacket, and it's only because I need a good one up here.

Exactly. Whatever the Hell happened to wearing clothes for warmth? If you're going to get a $60 top, it had damn well better keep you warm in winter. Hell, the most expensive clothing I have, I bought to handle a Canadian winter, and four years later you can bet your ass I'm getting my money's worth out of them today. Who cares if I'm in Hawai'i? I paid for these pants, so I'm wearing them.
Of course, I am in Hawai'i, so I don't even need clothes for warmth. I could be walking around in the nude just to save myself the money.
If uniq posts /swoon I will send everyone here money! DISCLAIMER: No I won't.

I'll admit it I spend quite a bit of money on clothing a year and i shop at AE, Aero, A&F, etc. But I earn all my own money and keep up with my bills and school payments, so spending money on clothes is what I splurge on every once in a while. I think if I can afford it and I'm not going over board then it's not a big deal.
BUT I am not one of those people who will spend 80 bucks on a Graphic Tee or something. I do look for sales and everything. For example I bought a really nice black dress for 25 bucks the other day and it originally was 75 :p
Matt 34.5

I mean, I buy all my clothes with my money, but that doesn't mean I can't save up to look nice. The point of clothing is to give off an image of what you want to look like, right?
So with that said, where's the Zara, Ed Hardy, FCUK, etc.

I buy La Coste, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Mexx, Levis, Tom Taylor, Mustang, H & M, S. Oliver, United Colours of Benetton, Gant, Diesel, Hugo Boss and Kenvelo. When I see something nice in Tesco or other non-designer clothes shop I buy that too. I am very strict about quality and details. That is why I prefer designer to non-designer clothes. I don't wear designer clothes for the brand name. I prefer clothes where the brand name isn't visible, the smaller the better. I do not like people with ugly sweaters who wear them only because there is a Hugo Boss sign all over the front.
~SuMpFiN~

I prefer Flipback clothes to any other, not any big brand, which makes them cheaper but looks just as good.
Oh, and I prefer Nike for sportswear.
