Name unavailable, but cannot /stat it

Hey all,

I'm trying to create a new El Cid account in Great Lakes and gold it. However, when I try to create it, it tells me that the name is unavailable.

Sure, the first I thought was that some other grey had simply taken the account before I could do it myself. Now, here comes the weird part, when I created another grey account and typed /stat El Cid, it didn't return any stats.

Has this ever happened to you? Is there any explanation why this is happening? Maybe this will clear in a few days?

I don't think the account name is just "reserved" because I had a gold name: I also created another grey today for another gold I used to have and it worked on that one.

Yep, as a web developer, I am fully aware of it, just hoping to see if someone can go behind the scenes and tell us what is going on. Want to gold my account so I can stay in the lobby and watch for contenders in Lieus tourney, I guess if that doesn't work out, I might as well just create a "temp" one in the meantime. *sigh*

Was the account deleted or banned in the past for any reason? That's the only reason I could see it not being available. Someone else may have used that account name and got it banned.

Checked Serg's list today and don't see the name anywhere. It might be that an in-game mod may have done that? Don't think they can actually delete accounts. That's a good call though.

Also, I believe the IP or IP range is the one that is usually banned for perma-bans so that the infractor cannot go back with another account or use another server..

Today still didn't work, I guess I'll wait for a bit to see if the "invisible" account gets wiped.

Yeah then I don't know, good luck though. You could try PMing a mod too to see if they can get serg to answer that.

If those characters are taken in that order, whether it be "El Cid" or in this case "Elcid" (I checked it on Great Lakes), you can't create another account until the old one expires.

I checked today that there is a guy using ElCid, and indeed tested that you can't create InfniteFuria when Infinite Furia has been created.

And for all those guys that asked me to send PMs to Serg, I'm not sure if he'd like that, the process for getting support for gold accounts is creating a ticket. But you have to have a gold account to create a ticket in the first place, so hence the "catch-22" in my situation.

I'll wait-out "ElCid" to come out of existence while in the meantime I will gold "X El Cid". If something goes amiss I'll just use my new gold account to send a ticket and see if the guys behind the scenes can work something out then.

please, everyone who came back to this thread: if you're going to post in the help section, don't recommend people PM the admin. he doesn't like that. use the gold ticket system if you have to.
