There's a serious problem with the system of rating points as it goes. While this problem has not happened to me, it has happened to many people.
If it is possible to discern a disconnect from a closed window, it would make sense for the person who disconnected to lose half the points, or a draw. Even if it's not possible, three quarters seems reasonable because the person who "won" would still gain points.
It seems unreasonable to me that a person using a dialup connection could lose 30 points due to a poor connection. That's a harsh penalty for a good player playing a bad one. 21 points seems bad enough.
