View Full Version : Best New 360 Game
Some new games look pretty sweet, what games am I thinking of?
Call of Duty: World at War
Left 4 Dead
and Mirrors Edge,
I plan on purchasing one of these. Leaning toward Call of Duty for multiplayer action, although I have the halo series.
Opinions?

Send a death threat to santa, for all three of them.

Mirror's Edge: Hella fun, but you're better off renting it. It's short and for now the novelty may wear thin.
L4D: Fun as well, but also short. There are no rankings and the multiplayer for now is limited to two maps. It is still very fun.
CoD:WaW: No idea. Haven't picked it up yet, but if it somehow improves upon 4 then I'd say go for it.

I don't even have an XBox and I can acknowledge that COD beats the crap out of Halo.
I watch my friend play all the time when I'm at his house. The only issue I have with the new COD is the addition of the tanks, but everything else seems to have improved.

I find that cod:Waw's online play isn't all that great compared to COD4. But the zombies and campaign make up for that.
The new call of duty has some good maps. Tanks are nasty but the new sticky bomb for tanks are good. No helicopters or air strikes, which in my opinion is good, and dogs can be awesome kill, and can be defended against.
I like it over call of duty 4. Although most probably prefer 4.
Zombies ftw.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the dogs.
If you can manage to stay alive from enemy fire while you knife/shoot them, yes they can be defended against. Still, they can be kind of lame though if two of them come at you at once.
But you have a better chance then defending against a helicopter, those things are sharpshooters. Dogs are quick though and can get inside buildings. Its a decent trade-off.

The artillery is retarded in cod. It screws your team over just as much, if not more than the other team.

Halo > CoD
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I would suggest Left 4 Dead. I havn't played it yet myself (I don't even own a 360, lol) but I've seen one of my friend's older brothers playing it with a friend and it looked pretty damn fun.
P.S. How's Phase doing? Did it die after you banned me? :p

It really is. I wish they'd add rankings and I'd be happy as can be. Zombie killing(you killing zombies and you as zombies killing survivors) weapons and a slightly over1337 punch and you've got a fun, non-stop shooter.

COD WAR Sucks compared to Cod4. Luckily they are making a Cod5 and it's going to be made by Infinity Ward. I just can't understand why you would go back in time to shitty weapons instead of all the high tech we have now.

Doesn't Halo have higher tech weapons than the CoDs?
Didnt pay for phase this month, saving up my money. Phase will probably open back up again in a few months.
Halo and Call of duty both good shooter games. I like halo better but the lag and glitching can get annoying. Call of duty is more enjoyable when playing by yourself. Halo more of a party game since 4 can play.

I see you have your priorities straight.
Oh and guys, Halo and CoD both suck. I wouldn't be caught dead playing either. /indie
I'd go for Mirror's Edge out of these 3 despite the fact that EA is involved, they seem to be making some interesting titles again.
Its a different concept game. I will probably rent it first though and then decide since its a platform game.
Already have fallout 3, and its probably tops of em all. : )

If you like crap games and running errands for hours on end.;)
Well im guessing its like crazy taxi, fun at what type of game it is for a long time, but eventual burnout.

I think Mirror's Edge is the most innovative game I've seen in a while. The demo gives me this feel of a fantastic new way to view and play a game.

(Jump jump jump jump jump jump)x100 swing weapon twice. Repeat. Pick up a book for someone 2000 miles away. Return. Get tiny bag of money.

Yeah exactly...the D&D games is a lot more straightforward and a lot less monotonous.

I borrowed Beautiful Katamari yesterday to see what the big deal is. It's amusing for about 15 minutes. That is all. Everything after that is just a repeat of the first five minutes. The only redeeming factor is loading screen.
So far the last two games I tried have been fail. Oh well... The third time is the charm, right?

Perhaps.
I don't like many new games in general though.
