So I'm going into DC today to buy my lil bro Rockband 2 for the Wii. He has no idea etc etc.
Now we're close but me being older by two years means I mess with him a lot. So this year, I'm going to try and piss the shit outta him.
I'm going to buy the Rockband set up, and remove it from the box. put a large unusable object in their (i.e. a rock) to give it weight. Wrap it up, and put it under the tree. Then I'm going to hook up the stuff to the T.V. in the basement and leave it there. I'm going to (hopefully) video record him opening the present and im going to laugh and let him think im yet agin being a big douche, and let him freak out. He'll eventually go to the basement during this time and then he'll feel like a douche :)
any ways to make this better?
I already Cellophane his room at head level X-mas day so when he runs out he hits his head and falls.... anything else?

One Christmas I asked for the new N64 that came out. I already had the super nintendo, but of course wanted an upgrade. ^_^ I also stressed that i wanted 007 goldeneye for the N64 as well.
They gave me a small box and i opened it and it was goldeneye007 and i was freaking out. Then they said "go play it! It will play on your super nintendo right!?"
/superangryalmostcryingface they were kidding and i got the N64. =D
Here's my prank on my kids....
My oldest who is in middle school this year had to take a 6 week typing course....he has always been a A & B student, but this year he made a C in typing of all things...It's not one of his main courses, so his concern to improve in it is well it's not there.....So as a father I had to sit both of them(included my youngest too to try and avoid this in the future) down and explain to them why even though this class is not as important as a math or english class it is still a valuable life skill that they will need....soooooooooo they have been dying for this one computer game for the playstation....and being that I already have set them both down and stressed the importance of learning this life skill of typing I bought them the Mavis Beacon typing computer program and inside of it I will put the PS3 game.
I can't wait to see them open it and see the Mavis Beacon Typing program without realizing that the PS3 game is inside.
Muwahahahahahah!!!

Does it still have Mavis Beacon in it too?
Reminds me of Shawshank Redemption where Salvation lies within.
BTW, how old are you!? You have teenagers?!?

my friends parents did that to him.... he wanted an xbox 360 and had a PS2.
(you know how if you open a gift and its for a system you dont have you now know you're getting the system)
so he opens a bunch of PS2 games that are multi player.... he has only one controller... so his parents are like well we knew you wanted to play with friends so we got you a new controller.... it was for the 360.... he was like you guys are idiots... then he walked down to his room and there was a bunch of 360 shit on his bed and he ran back upstairs to his rents..... lol kids are funny.

Oh yea....I still hope they use the program and learn to type better....wishful thinking I know.
My oldest just turned 13 and he's in the 7th grade....My first typing class did not happen until I was in the 12th grade, but it was all year long.

Faulty, put anything to mimick the weight, then add a card at the bottom saying you will get him the system next year when you have more money. That way he goes from pissed, to feeling dumb, then to jubilation

I don't have anything to add to the thread at this point but want to point out that I love Nomadic's banner. I am so looking forward to the day after Christmas to go see that in the theater and am so scared that Frank Miller is going to deficate on the grave of Will Eisner.

Not really a 'prank', but in order to hide what the gifts were (being Gift cards), I took a phonebook, cut it in half, and put each half in one of the two clothing boxs, with tissue over top, and the cards on top of that. One gift Card is $40 at Roots, for my Brother in-law, and the other is $40 at Old Navy for my sister.
Every year My brother in-law and/or his brother puts a ridiculous amount of wrapping and tape on one of the kids presents, its fun to watch them try to open it, especialy when its a big present and they start out all excited, but slowly get worn down.

The box in a box in a box in a box in a box in a box idea is always fun too.
Dot hat, and in the last box simply have a card saying where the real present is hidden is always fun.

one time i found a baby in my stocking.
talk about surprise!
The first year I was married I decided to have several presents for my wife. Under the tree was just one present. It had a gift and a clue to the next one that I had hidden....she would find it unwrap it and in it was a present with another clue to the next one....so on and so on.
It would have been fun, but she got the flu and was not much into the whole hide and go seek Christmas idea that I had came up with. :(

I got my own idea that I refuse to share. Other than that, we're gonna pull a really funny one on my dude Joe.
Me and about 7 others, are all gonna go steal his truck keys one night when we're getting hammered. And wrap up about 15 bongs and put them in his trunk. ANd when he goes to drive someone around next time he'll be like "Presents?!"
"sweet a bong...cool another bong...bong...bong...bong...COME ON"

Why not Saran Wrap his truck too? That way he will have to unwrap it first.
